Your avatar sorta gives that away. Ha. I would maybe keep my Snowtrooper too. The probe droid feels like a studio replica. The fact that it's in scale is just a bonus. Can't wait for some real snow to take some pics outdoors.

Not to be a contrarian, but I was slightly disappointed in this piece. I love the probot, but when I held it, and I know it's hollow plastic, I just didn't feel happy with it. Plus the sound bite was so short, I felt they could have done more with that. BUT, you have to spend major bucks for a studio scale version, so it may be a good compromise at this price point.

That's easy, get a couple of led weights and glue them in. You can get many different kinds at your nearest fishing tackle store. :monkey3

I'm with you on the sound. Would have been nice if there was ambient noise that surrounded that clip and if the whole thing were two to three times longer. I think the sound is kind of fun but also could have done without it considering what they ultimately did.

Probe Droid up for preorder again on Sideshow Collectibles in case no one noticed.

I think most people here in the thread saw that come up a few months ago. ;) The only question right now is if it will actually go live this month or will it be pushed out to Feb-March?

Maybe you know the 1:5 Attakus statue which was less accurate and way too fragile... but it was heavier. This 1:6 Probot is indeed an excellent "compromise" considering a studio scale too - also remember one of the talented RPF guys helped SSC make it as accurate as possible.

:exactly: :goodpost:

Just goes to show how sometimes, your damned if you do and damned if you don't. :dunno

One of the best pieces (in any line) that Sideshow has ever produced.

Totally agree. It is in my top 20 collectibles and going up. I don't care if it is light or heavy, I also don't really care about lights and sound since I rarely use them, and also a bit wary of the batteries inside in time. But this is such an iconic figure, even though it is a background movie character. LOVE IT! I even have an SMS alert as Probot sound on my old cel phone.
