I like the outfit. I actually like the sculpt in certain poses / lighting. I have him displayed under a dramatic warm colored light and I think it looks awesome.

Yeah, the HT sculpt is alright in hand, not so much in photos though. After seeing the new SSC Snake Plisskin figure, I'm not expecting much from this figure.

Well at least the Snake looks like it's only a really good repaint away from being a great Kurt Russell. With this new Indy we can already tell from the preview pics like even the best paintjob doesn't quite get it there.

Kato jackets are THE 1/6 indy jacket to have. I agree that they are amazing, but i would never pay that much for a 1/6 clothing item. As for Indy, the Superman and Snake releases have me fearing what were actually going to get. At this point, STT doesnt deserve our business for the price they are charging.

if this figure turns to be bad my head will explode. I'm still thinking about what to do with my snake PO, I already paid most of the figure through flexpay, but something tells me that in hand will be acceptable. Indy for twice the price they better call HT and let them use their factory.

I have Snake on order here in the UK and I'm sticking with it. It's the only official 1/6 scale we're likely to get and I don't think, at the $150 pricepoint, it's as awful as a lot of people are making out. But if SS are going to start charging HT prices for Indy and the like, they're going to have to start providing HT quality product.

The way I have the hat on my Hot Toys Indy it puts his eyes in shadow and since I think the eyes are the biggest problem with that figure with them not visible the figure looks great on the shelf. I, really happy with the outfit too. I was a bit worried about buying it, I wanted Indy in the collection but the pictures of the face gave me doubts but I'm actually pretty happy with it and think it looks good in person. The new Sideshow sculpt is better but I don't anyone has really captured Harrison Ford's likenes yet though they're very close. There's always something just a bit off.

It's always the worst pics that get trotted out to slam HT's Indy, but there are a lot of good pics of it too. Amazing how different it looks from different angles and under different lighting.

Think whenever people start saying a sculpt looks good 'under selected lighting' or from 'certain angles' you're already on shaky ground. Most people (myself included) were disappointed that the sculpt undermined what could and should have been one of HT finest efforts. We can only hope SS come close to providing the quality seen here.

Hmm. As blown away as I initially was by that headsculpt... looking at it again with fresh eyes I gotta say I'm not really seeing enough Harrison Ford in there anymore.

It's certainly beautifully painted and sculpted (and not nearly as off as the HT Indy was), but it still just isn't really grabbing me like it used to.

Having finally added HT Indy to the collection, I really think it looks much better in hand than most pics. Doesn't mean I think it's great by any means, just that it's not very photogenic. Still an awesome figure and when someone finally nails the likeness, it'll be an easy add to otherwise great set.

This SS one, I think the proto sculpt looks muchc better than HT but like everyone else stated, still not perfect. The problem for me is I just don't trust SS anymore with human heads. I think everything else about it looks great(could've added a jacket though) and would've kept my PO but my faith is broken. Hopefully when we have in hand shots, it'll change a lot of opinions.

SS really have to knock this one out of the park. They need to show collectors that they are capable of producing a figure to Hot Toys quality in terms of headsculpts or stick to producing 1/6 figures in the $100-150 price bracket.

I think it's a good likeness, but I admit that single shot can be misleading since it could be the only angle that the sculpt looks good! :lol But no one can argue that the paint job on that proto is phenomenal.

I had forgotten the figure is $230. Damn. I'm waiting for a coupon, but I'm committed to buying it. I love the character and comes with a fairly good amount of stuff, especially compared to Red Five Luke.

I think if you showed 10 random people the hatless HT headsculpt only two or three would recognise it off the bat as Ford. Whereas the above proto would probably get seven or eight positives. I'm hoping the wait until December for the release (with a further potential for delays) means SS have got a crack team of painters working on these heads over a long period to produce top results. The realist in me though says not to expect the final paintwork to look anywhere near the proto : \

Just gotta believe man  although I'm not going to hold my breath either, but what gives me a slight bit of hope is they got Wan Lee (painter) to actually be a part of the development process of this figure, so hopefully he can oversee the factory and tell the workers how to paint properly for once.

Love the positivity, Kobra [emoji2]
Let's face it, these forums could do with some. What with all the people destroying figures they haven't even seen 'in-hand' lol

'You will be a true believer...that this will be the 1/6 Indy we deserve!'

Ok, who believes this is the paint job that we will actually get? Good luck with that.
