Well, Jabba does look good in the video - the parts changed in-n-out and looked better than I expected (the mouth side seam still a little obvious but not bad).
Just not $800 worth to me. I'll just keep the old one as kind of a sign of it's time like some of the old Hasbro figures I've held onto are....

Was that Jedi Luke they showed still the proto or was that a production version? And no Skiff Lando in mention or sight...he must be off with HT figurss that are in the shown-but -never-made club...

I went ahead and had them process my payment for this early, since I want to have as much time as possible to work on a video review, and estimated shipping for me to the midwest was about $50.

Well you are the guy to do the first review. Your site is great. I love the idea of a site dedicated to all things jabba.:clap

Interested to see your thoughts. I like how the prod paint came out and the seams are less than I feared but he still has that squashed jabba look where his belly isn't big enough or tall enough or something. Hard to describe but like a slightly deflated jabba balloon where his belly deflates and upper body sinks down into it. A few Hasbro Jabbas had that look.

Yeah, I lamented the lack of lando as well. Hope Lando's not contingent on selling lots of jabbas.

And you could see the figure tray, so I assume that's the production Luke Jedi. From memory they said something like "we just received this" too.

Excellent! when do you think you'll get him?

I'm really curious about this one. I desperately want a Jabba -- a good Jabba for display purposes that look right with my HT figures. The price kills me on this... but if it is the definitive Jabba, well...

I am also not convinced HT will do one. Seems like they are reluctant to do larger items other than Iron Man related. I have 600.00 in reward points ready to use if I pull the trigger.

I'm also really excited to see how this turns out. I can't see HT ever making Jabba, it just seems out of their wheelhouse. This might be the best 1/6 Hutt we see in a decade. Super tempting.

WOW!!! You've really been saving.

Most I saved at one time was the $300+ I blew on the Deluxe Emperor.

Been saving for something big like this. Thought it was going to be the gauntlet but opted against it. I am more of a sucker for anything Salacious Crumb.

Not really sure! I've never done this early processing thing before, but the email said it would be eligible for early processing on Jan. 11th and shipped "right away" after that. Does anyone know what causes something to be eligible for early processing? I was probably one of the first preorders if that makes any difference. :D

Probably just means early charging. Shipping date remains the same. Damn you, Sideshow!!!

I can’t believe I’m actually considering sell mine to get this one now. The production version looked pretty good so far although the eyes and saliva could use a gloss coat.

I also got the early processing email today. My shipping ended up being $54 and some change. I'm guessing he'll show up sometime in the middle of next week. I still haven't sold off my old Jabba yet, but I'll be sure to take some comparison pics with the new one before I do.

Really happy with the final product in that video, I was really worried the paint was going to take a big dip in quality. I may gloss the eyes too, depending on how they look in person. Speaking of gloss, any brand in particular someone would recommend?

It's a fantastic looking piece although personally I think there's too much "slime" on the Tongue swap out mouth. I'm happy with my old Jabba but I think people that get this will have a superb collectable that could well grow in value.

Yeah, the paint work is terrific overall, even the tongue, but the way the slime drips got painted doesn't look right. It's like an Indy logo paint scheme.:lol

I think the "sly eyes" combo is the best - either a wide eye with a narrowed eye, or a narrowed eye with a "sleeping" eye. With them matched they don't look as convincing. And some clear gloss over the eyes would definitely add more depth and life-like look. They look a bit doll eye as is.

Just watched the sideshow video, wow super pumped for this now, glad I preordered this.
I've owned the gentle giant Jabba 1/8 scale, this will be a nice upgrade for me. The GG version is not going anywhere though.
Loved when they put Luke next to him, gave you a great idea of scale.

Kind of looks like he's biting into a giant hot pocket and all the cheese is squirting out, lol.
