A local shop just put this on their website for about $310! No jawas for me.

SS should really get out of the 1/6 action figure business. Really, just focus on statues, art prints, etc. and make them the best you can.

Disagree 100%. Instead I wish they would focus a bit more attention to it! Their reveals and setup were a bit of a let down this year, they are pretty much letting Hot Toys run with the Star Wars side of things. AT-AT driver looked great. Black droid was cool but not sure it will join my collection. I actually really like my old SSC Darth Maul so I was hoping for a lot more with a re-do. I really hope they reveal an exclusive snarling alternate portrait or I wont be going with it.

I attended the Collectibles panel and they showed preliminary 3D sculpts of Zuckuss and 4-Lom and said they should be revealed before the end of the year and then said they would then get around to the last bandaged dude so I literally cheered because this is something I really want to complete.

They also revealed McQuarrie 1/6th Vader at the panel and when questioned they would be also doing Stormtrooper and Fett as 1/6th (they showed statues of these two down at the booth).

I did not care for any of their non Star Wars 1/6th reveals this year but they are not things I collect so that was assumed. I think they hit their peak a year or so ago and then have had some back sliding in terms of production pieces but I anticipate a return to form.

As for the Jawa figures. I will get them but I was disappointed that they still have the shiny black plastic face under the hood. I mentioned that at first reveal and a SSC employee assured us that was being addressed so I was hoping to see that in person. I am still getting them however as I think they are still really cool looking and should be fun to pose.

One thing that I wish was more transparent to us consumers is the real relationship and plan of attack on 1/6th SW collectibles in terms of SS and HT and how (if at all) they will work to compliment each other. I am really sick of the "I'll wait until HT does it" thought pattern. We have TWO excellent collectible manufacturers tackling one of my two favorite properties, it would be nice to see a better laid plan to excited about but I 100% want SSC to be a part of it.

:goodpost:

I was surprised that SS didn't continue to show some of the items that are right around the corner (X-Wing Luke, Scout Trooper, Speederbike), even if they're not reveals anymore it would have made the display more impressive and presumably would have been the production versions of the Scout and Bike. Would have been cool to have the SS and HT figures integrated so we could see X-Wing Luke along with the other ANH figures, but that's probably asking too much.

Agreed. I really wanted to see Jango Fett too along with what you mentioned.

Yeah its a weird choice. I kinda get that they wanted the buzz to be about their new figures but it wouldnt have killed them to bring the other figures. Scout and bike is especially weird since they are supposed to be close to release.

They raffled off a Bike Trooper at the collectibles panel... They just got them in and said this was the first one outside of Sideshow employees to leave the building. The Troopers are there and will be going out soon according to the Rep.

Trade show floor space is super expensive so I'm sure they had to edit carefully to choose what to show and how to space it all out.

You are right but there were multiple options on how to use that exact same floor space and show a lot more stuff. Their displays from previous years of both Hoth and Droid factory setups side by side in similar sized cases/bases would have worked fine and given them a lot more room (not to mention look super cool). Even how they were setup in the cases they did have was very sparsely laid out, both SW and non-SW 1/6th. Court of the Dead had an amazing layout like last year which are super cool but I cannot go down that road.

It should be noted on a 1/6th SW level, a HUGE part of the booth was dedicated to R2 Me2 gallery. There were literally dozens of modified 1/6th scale R2 D2 figures that were amazing to look at. This of course is a whole other endeavor though as a lot of them are very witty and comical and not maybe what collectors were hoping for but very fun to look at and super inspiring in terms of customs. Some of the artists are literally insane.

Long story short, had they shown a lot of the same stuff from last year, I'm pretty confident we'd hear complaints that they were showing mostly the same stuff again. I think Sideshow did the right thing by leaving that stuff off the floor, just as last year they left out the stuff from the year prior.

I think it would have been cool to show things nearing release though, especially if there were production pieces available. I for one would have loved to see production model of X-wing Luke and Jango Fett. Another look at Speeder Bike and Rider would have been good too.

In the Collectibles Panel the Lucasfilm rep said everything is very controlled right now until Force Friday 9/4/15 when all the new film products get revealed. I went to the Hasbro panel too just for fun (they had the girl who does Ashoka's voice on it) and they were the only company with any TFA/Rebles reveals, everyone else has to wait until Force Friday so she told the audience to not ask any questions as there will be no answers.

I think a lot of what is on the horizon for everyone is building up to that reveal but we will see. All the vendors from Gentle Giant to Kotobukiya to EFX had really short programs this year and the panel ended way earlier than the hour time slot (they just played the new trailer again and that was that).

Great news. Hope they charge soon. Maybe we'll start seeing some production pics on review sites soon too.

Hope so too. Really excited about the Scout and Bike, now I just want them to arrive. Especially since the Scout and Speeder Bike I'm buying locally is already paid for. :)

I keep forgetting that I have a fully paid Scout on order...bought it locally because I had a big store credit to burn. I don't actually intend to keep it as it doesn't fit with my plans, but I wouldn't mind if it changed my mind upon arrival.

Yeah it kinda feels like a free figure when it finally arrives :) my Sandtrooper will definately feel that way since I've already paid in full and its about 6 months away :)

Had a look at the gallery for the Scout on SS website, even more pumped now.

Now that there are new base bodies for small people, I am hoping to see young Anakin.

Yeah, I'd forgotten this is the only 1/6 Little Ani we've got...
