Just checked the figure descriptor on Sideshow's site and it looks like the hoods are indeed separate from the cloaks. If I can't futz the taller to look right I'll just try to pick up a spare hood from TA.

Well my Jawas are improving and so I guess I am biased in that I think the quality will be better in some aspects, namely they look more like Jawas, so I can't afford to give them away. Cost is about 90.00 on a basic model before any custom work and time is spent.

Am I reading this wrong or are you saying you'll be selling a Jawa like the one in your pics with gun, bandoliers and light-up eyes for about $100?:horror

Yours look incredible and yeah, they do indeed look more like the Jawas in the movie than Sideshow's do.:clap

Don't get your hopes up - if that's the case I'll be buying every single one he makes. You can see my thread in the for-sale section later to buy one. :)

You guys keep talking like this and Disney's lawyers are gonna be knocking on Solo_Bones door.

That sounds like a good thing. I'm not sold on the hood on the tall Jawa.

The assembly instructions are up on SS product page. The two different hoods are the same piece just folded/put on differently. Light-up eyes controlled by a switch on the back of the head.

Nice find, Aliaz! That must mean they're coming out soon!

I like the little pair. I'll be putting them on my Christmas list.

Find anything else while working sequentially through possible numerical filenames? :)

Haha I actually found it while debating with myself if I should order the Jawas with this months code.

But I will get back to work on the numerical filenames on Wednesday when my vacation is over. :)

Thanks for sharing the link Aliza. I can't say I'm convinced this set looks like it's worth $219? I'm not really digg'n the back flaps on the hoods. I wish SSC would've opted to do one Jawa (with the bigger hood) and includ extra items to customized the figure. That way collectors could buy one or as many as the wanted.

Yeah, this is one of the ones that would have been awesome to have been made 5-7 years ago. No headsculpt to mess up with the SSC pancake paint apps, and it would have been less than half the price for close to the same quality.

This is the really sad part about the massive price jumps of the past 3 years or so - ALL cool secondary (or tertiary) characters now have to be priced above $200. A Walrusman for $120 would have been awesome 4 or 5 years ago. For $240... not so much.:(

It's staggering to think that just five years ago, SSC released a Gamorrean Guard figure that was a 100% new/unique body with no re-use (other than Gartogg, which was basically the same figure done over) and fully sculpted arms and legs... and charged $120 for it. Many retailers had it for $10 less than that.:slap

Let me ask you economists a question... If the guy standing/sitting next to you was getting paid $120k to do the same job you do, how would you feel doing it for $60k?

GOOD.:lol

Most people would prefer to spend less money, that's a given. I'm asking you to look at the realities of the hobby. Even if Sideshow could produce figures with the same investment as 5 years ago (they can't) why would they leave so much money on the table compared to other companies?

Of all the releases available for order right now, frankly this one still strikes me as decent. $110 per Jawa -at that price I don't see the point in making one myself.

What's gone up so that they can't? Wages in China is th only answer I'll accept, and it's pennies

Yeah, try to tell me SSC Luke Snowspeeder at $270 (a figure that 3 years ago would have been at least $100 less) is about "wages inflation" and "same investment as 5 years ago" and "prices compared to other companies" and I'll slap you... hard.:rotfl

Say it after me... GREED IS GOOD.:yess:

You guys must think SSC is running a charity. I don't like paying high prices, but I think any producer can charge whatever they want. After this many years in the business, I think maybe SSC knows what they're doing WRT pricing.

Not at all, they need to make money that's for sure and they get to decide how much. As paying customers we get to decide, we also get to voice our opinions over those decisions, being that is the hobby we are in..

Don't know if there is a forum for Mercedes customers to complain about their cars are pricing model
