The cost of the Star Wars license, especially after the Disney acquisition, seems to be a big one.
Yeah, I'm sure Lucasfilm just gave it away when Hasbro (and SSC) originally acquired it.

And um... when you sign a contract for a property licensing agreement with its owner, and that ownership then changes... do you then tear up the original contract? Um... no.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Hasbro has a 15 year, $600m licence until 2018 (sublet to SSC in 2006 for 12" figures.) Then when the Disney sale happened (early 2013,) Hasbro chose to extend that 15 year period an extra two years to 2020 for additional $80m royalty payment, an understandable uptick due to new films.
So... core licensee Hasbro extends an existing 15 year agreement by two years (with an understandably higher - given TFA/RO on screens - extra payment of $80m in addition to the original $600m) and that triggers sub-licensee Sideshow's prices to almost DOUBLE in that time? So did Hasbro turn full Medellin cartel on Sideshow or what?
Pixel, you're economist - step in and explain this to the idiot.
