I get the feeling Sideshow sees what everyone is saying is the highest fairest price they're willing to pay, and then add $20-$30 on top of it! :D

Well the more it costs the better the figure. I hope its more...........:yess:

Makes perfect sense.

I think you misunerstood his post there. :lol

After R2 I thought the next popular astromech droids would probably be R5-D4. Love to see that fella turning up soon.

I dont think they will and I think the only reason we are seeing this is because the tamashii was canceled. It's a direct response to this and it's a good business move. Those who bought the tamashii threepio will surely buy this and this will likely make people who never got the tamashii threepio pick it up.

EXCEPT, we were told that the research and design that went into the PF figures, was blown up make those figures, as it was also done as prepwork for making the 1/6th figures.

AND the Tamashi Nations 3P0 is no longer avalible from sideshow. They're not going to leave money like that lying on the table. Sideshow will do their own take on goldenrod, and we might even see him as soon as SDCC. POSSIBLY sooner. AND you can bet they will have taken notes from the Tamashi version.

A sideshow 3P0 is coming, it's a question of when.

That stuff and the jabba juice tray will just rot in the parts bin.

Agreed... a cool addition and I'm sure a few people will opt for that look next to Jabba's throne; but I doubt I'd ever use it. Kind of wish things like that and the table were part of a seperate release or "expansion pack" like Sideshow did with Maul's Balls and the Jabba creatures. I'd gladly pay less to just get R2 and skip the accessories. And I'm sure many would pony up an extra $50 for all that crap.

And yet they do exactly that with the Stormtroopers for example that they could probably sell a couple of thousand a year in perpetuity if they were just available.

Take notes on the Tamashii? You can call me crazy but that thing is near perfection. My hope is that we will get a weathered and beaten up rendition instead of a clean shiny one if Sideshow revisits it. I just hope this will spawn the release of many Astromech variations.

I think the only improvements I could see on the Tamashii is more movement in the legs and if they could revise the size of the arm pistons. None of those are deal breakers on the Tamashii, but could be better. Not to mention I would like to see a more weathered version and really surprised Tamashii never released one. Seems like a no-brainer of a way to make more money off the release :huh

The pistons I can overlook, even though they're absolutely ridiculous, but I'd start by fixing the neck and head, then the feet.

I'm kinda surprised at the estimate prices you guys are coming up with. Not saying you're wrong as I have not enough experience with SS and the SW line. But considering Yoda was only $100, shouldn't this be not too much more or less?

Same here. That's probably the only reason I would pick up a Sideshow version.
