$139. We should stand together and boycott it if it's any higher. Send a message to Sideshow! Who's with me?!? Anyone?

Hello?

Not sure what's worse, the fact that so many people are okay with it being $200+ or the fact that it will probably be that high. It's half the size of a regular figure, this should be $150 at most. Darth Vader was $250. This shouldn't be $50 less than that.

I know, but truth is Sideshow set the price a long time ago when they figured out what it would cost to make and what they could get for it.

Oh Wor-Gar, don't you know Sideshow lurks here and bases ALL their prices on a roughly 20 post survey of what people are willing to pay. Its makes perfect business sense to do so.

Jeez, how could you not know that :dunno

Many of the folks here seems to be keen on getting more than one piece.

Perhaps SSC could offer an option of selling R2 in a pair with a discount.:)

I always think they look better as a pair.

I hope not. I think Sideshow has the talent in-house and with their regular freelancers to make a much better 3PO.

Ha ha....:rotfl:

The Tamashii is awesome. Sure there are tiny issues but 'make a much better 3PO', no.

I will still buy a SSC Threepio as I have a focus on that character.

SSC would no doubt be capable of making a nice enough version of their own - & I'd potentially get one too. :duff

But yeah - PP talking loco again.

All the expected replacement parts for any imperfection that you see are already calculated in the costs. $239.99 FINAL ANSWER?

SS has typically priced items at a cost to recoup development in a very short order. Should they not really be planning to reuse the R2 parts, expect this figure to pull down some change as its all but one of a kind as far as tools go. Hopefully they do R5 some day, but I'm not holding my breath.

I'm pretty sure that variant astromechs would not sell like clones. R5 is pretty much the only other one that would sell in numbers comparable to R2.

Actually yeah - thanks for reminding me!

R3-M3 is another one I really like; the one that rolls around the corner when old Ben is creeping through the DS:

I'd love to make a display of this - a new HT Ben, & that little Astromech. :duff

Not a single fauk given about those multicolored imitation R2's.

*** waits for Blackhole C3P0 and R2D2 ***
