That's how i have it but i might try to open it up and re-tool it so it sits better inside.

If you can get it all opened up, be sure to post some photos and details - especially let us know if anything broke in the process. ;) I'd like to open it up as well but beyond taking the dome apart, the rest is bonded together.

Sometimes I wonder how you guys manage to still have a happy life without the metric system. :/

I use the metric system, but I post in inches for the US people here on the forum. :) In fact I use both, because a lot of things here use imperial exclusively, like lumber and sheet goods (wood, paper, fabric)

Same here. I was a carpenter for 8 years as I attended University. We strictly used old school measurements. Because I also do some modelling, I tend to use a lot of metric for that, so I have become somewhat fluent in both. If I am talking to an American friend, I will likely talk in inches, feet, yards. if I am talking to a non-American, I will likely describe in MM or CM.

"My car gets 3 lambs to the hogs head...and thats the way I likes it!"

I actually prefer the imperial version over metric for mileage.

"35 miles to the gallon" or "35 miles per gallon" rolls off the tongue much easier than "seven point two Litres per one hundred kilometers".

having said that, I have no clue what a gallon is :lol

You can't get anywhere on 1 litre of fuel, which is probably why they decided to do the opposite and calculate how much fuel is consumed over a fixed distance. :)

Sure, Sideshow designed it so that it could be over-extended where they should have instead included a stop and lock at least 3/8" into the body. For posing purposes, don't extend the leg all the way out and you have a reasonably accurate R2 unit.

^^^ This.

I also painted that top surface black so it's not visible.

I'm pretty sure I understand the entire disassembly and reconstruction, it seems fairly basic, too bad that channel is integrated with the top part that holds the spring and both halves glued together, needing to be cut out at the top.

However, I'm sorry to tell you that yours is off by 1/16. Damn. ;)

THAT'S a very good idea sir [emoji106] .
Why the hell didn't I think of that?
I'm no where near talented or brave enough to do a major overhaul. Looks good. But I'll just make due with painting mine... & not pulling it out all the way.
