I hope you guys come. I've written off SDCC since it's gotten so crazy. I would love to see a Sideshow booth at Celebration.

I started with Sideshow at Celebration IV. Their booth was awesome, and it inspired me to spend lots of money. I've missed them at V and VI, but the informal freaks parties made up for it! Hoping for both a Freaks party, AND Sideshow to be attending!

At least we won't be hearing any of the "for what this figure costs I expect..." chestnuts
Yeah it was just shocking to hear so many *****ing about in reality barely over 1/4". He should be 7" -7 1/8" if you want true 1/6 scale.

C-3PO is all but confirmed by Sideshow themselves.

So sideshow has said they will be making a C3PO because I want one if that is the case. hopefully he will come with as bonus extra the disassembled version with wires hanging out and a bag for chewie. Hopefully magnetic grip hand so he wont loose comlink lol.

If Threepio is reasonably priced like R2 then I'll be happy to buy it also. It's hard to imagine C-3PO having many accessories (although I could hope for the Falcon's Nav Computer Console)

Given R2 comes with hologram Leia and Ben's table, perhaps we'll see a detachable arm so the Ben's hut scene can be recreated... followed by a Ben's Hut environment.

This forum is the funniest place ever and every figure release is exactly the same. There are always the fact deniers that come stomping in to say it doesn't matter what a figure looks like. There are always people who come in to say a figure is garbage. And people in the middle who think a product is good, sometimes excellent, but can recognize flaws. Opinions don't bother me, but what does is someone trying to tell me how to think or how to write. Honestly, if someone's not prepared to read what someone else has to say, then maybe a public forum isn't the right place for that person.

And if anyone thinks there's any kind of negative sentiment right now, just wait until the figure is released and more people pile into the thread. No matter how it turns out, this release will be no different from any other when it comes to the commentary in here. We just have to accept that.

Yeah, but Pixel... 1/4 of an inch?

He's only 1/4" taller than other attempts that are universally panned. I'm not stating any opinion as to the quality of the figure based on size, but people shouldn't be surprised when the figure doesn't line up against others how they might expect. You can bet there are going to be some screams when some folks see this. And can't forget that some people think 7.25" would be better, so that's 1/2" you're talking about now - scaled 3", not insignificant.

Some people can only process black and white, which is strange because at the same time they don't like to be bothered with facts. Anyway, it's possible to recognize something for what it is and appreciate it nonetheless. Great figure, miss on height. I for one would love to know why. And shudder the thought if 3PO comes out at 11.75" or taller… ;)

Here's a spot of hopeful info: Vader is listed as 13.75" on the site, yet he's only hair shorter than 14" in reality. We'll see what happens.

But what other universally panned attempts are you talking about?

Medicom? A 6.1" figure, which is ridiculously under height. A full inch too short, by your reckoning.
Hasbro? The height isn't the issue, it's the detailing and paint that people aren't happy with.
Taito? Again, height is fine, it's the detail and paint that are lacking.

I can almost guarantee that people are going to be (very) disappointed at the scale when this guy is in-hand. The Hasbro R2 is just a tiny bit taller than 6.25" making this one just under .5" taller. He really needed to be 7" or taller. The SSC version will also be only about 1/8" wider at the feet if that's where they measured his width. I have no idea how they would have measured "length" from their specs.

You're the only one so far who is bummed about the scale shown in the specs. Nobody else gives a s **t :lol

If I were to complain about the 1/4 inch, it would only be because the rest of the SS original cast figures are oversized, except Leia, and maybe Han Solo smuggler. The old Ben figure stands 6'2" scale height, and Vader?... Yes, they should have made R2 a bit bigger, and yes, it still looks beautiful.

Trust me, EVERYONE gets it. The figure they make is the figure you get if you choose to buy it. You may want to know "why" that figure is the way it is but the company certainly doesn't owe you an explanation. Also, no one here can explain why SS would make it that way so the answer isn't coming from us either--though I would gladly tell you if I knew if the thread could move on.

Funny those people want a figure 1/4" to tall depending which R2-D2 you measure but I guess thats ok but god forbid it 1/4" to short.
