I am surprised no one measuring R2's specs against HT's Bespin Luke have mentioned how that figure is too tall compared to SS figures. :slap:

Even with all of it's flaws, HT Luke is perfect, and above reproach.

You know what then... don't buy him. We know.. we get it... you think he is too small you don't have to post it 100 more times.

No, he does have to post it 100 times. So long as there's someone vocally not caring, he will be compelled to reply, and re-establish that he doesn't think it's tall enough. It's a sickness. We should feel bad.

I don't have any of sideshows human figures to compare it too. Hoth Han and Luke will be my first SS humans. Until now it's been aliens and Darth.

Not sure if anyone has looked, or cares, but maybe the height issue is a matter of proportion. Obviously you can't make R2 taller without making him proportionately wider, so perhaps he looks too "fat" if you follow any of the official specs?

As a reference point I think I worked out that the DX07 was a perfect height at 11.5" (5'9" allowing 2" for lifts and mop-top making him 5'7").

Don't currently have many Sideshows on display to measure. Smuggler Han is quite tall at 12.5" - must be the boots, big noggin and all that hair.

Leia as Boushh would be 11" without her helmet (5'6", making her 5" too tall, less the height of her boots).

The Stormtrooper looks quite short - under 12".

Boba is just under 12" to the top of his helmet.

I haven't got any more recent Sideshows to compare, not until the Echo Base Han and Luke arrive.

2 inches is very generous to give Bespin Luke's moccasin boots, but if that makes you feel better about the scale, that's okay.

Sideshow's Jedi Luke was perfectly scaled (minus the noggin and the monkey arms). If I observed correctly, the Taashii 3PO is exactly in scale to Sideshow's Luke figures.

I was allowing an inch for the boots and an inch for his mop-top hair!

The behind the scenes pictures of Mark show his boots had bigger lifts than HT gave him - so it's an actor/character height thing again.

I guess it's back to the old "movie accurate vs. prop accurate" debate. :lol

In any case, I am sure the scale of R2 won't bother me a'tall. :)

Now if they bring the Imperial R2-Q5 I'll be in:

WOW -- it IS $150!!!! I really can't believe it. Yes, I admit, you 150 guys were right

WOW -- it does EVERYTHING!

WO WOW WOW -- the last picture shows C-3PO in the background!!!

Come on SDCC!

I know right, how often do the low-ballers predict the price accurately :lol

Just knowing that it's in the works is exciting news.

Word, hoping we get a good and grimy C-3PO :rock

I'll take that as a firm confirmation that Sideshow will have a presence at CVII! :lecture

Man, that would be awesome... I'm not really interested in SDCC, so this might be my only chance to see a Sideshow booth. Please Sideshow, make it happen

Sideshow party in my room. :lecture

Better than the one in his pants :lecture

Or it might just be an online event being celebrated that weekend. I was not confirming we would be actually physically there...but it would be awesome if we were to be...since we're realatively close to Anahiem. :)

Do it :lecture

When I did the HT/Jedi Luke bash I went with a Pro 1.0 body. It's certainly not as nice as the HT slim, but he just looked too tall and thin on that body and the Jedi outfit. I thought the HT slim worked great for the Bespin look, but did not like it for Jedi.

Cancelled.

And **** Jango, just because.

No, that one you should cancel because the unhelmeted head is the Sideshow exclusive. Think of it as a sign of solidarity with your overseas brothers.

You forget the HT Luke is standing on a box..

Ordered my 2nd R2 from big bad toys:yess: Now to save my credits until December...:r2d2line:r2d2line
Hey highlander, just curious, but if presumably you're buying the exclusive from SSC, why are you buying a second from BBTS? They're the same price and by buying from SSC, you'd save on shipping and get another $7.50 in rewards points. I only ask because it seems quite common around here for people to not know that they can order the regular version direct from SSC, even while the exclusive is available.

I started with Sideshow at Celebration IV. Their booth was awesome, and it inspired me to spend lots of money. I've missed them at V and VI, but the informal freaks parties made up for it! Hoping for both a Freaks party, AND Sideshow to be attending!
