When the hell are these shipping :tap

No kidding. This is the kind of stuff that can drive a person bat ^^^^ crazy. :lol

:rotfl

Not soon enough, King. :D My best guess is they'll be in the warehouse by mid week and begin shipping Wed-Thursday...

Yup, and while it's self torture, I can't stop myself, I keep listening to Indy music and watching the movies thinking of images to make and all, and each thing keeps making me want this figure more, yet the wait feels longer each time, I should stop watching and listening, but I can't, I can't!

I know. I'm wearing the battery down on my phone watching Raiders. :lol

I started KOTCS last night, I was holding off buying it to just get the BR once I get into the HD world, but I got impatient with all my personal Indy hype :lol

I have to say, I'm enjoying it more now that I understand the context better thanks to Irish and DA enlightening me and watching the BTS footage. I'd have enjoyed it much more the first time if I'd know all that stuff beforehand.

KOTCS is awesome! I liked it quite a bit and actually have it on both BR and regular DVD. Knowing all the stuff before hand does help out with things.

I called Sideshow and talked to Karen there late last week. She said they "expect" to have the regular and exclusive Indys in sometime next week. She couldn't give me an exact day of course, but told me that's when they expect to have them in their warehouse. I hope it's true. I'm tired of the LONG wait too! :gun

Well, I'm very uncultured, partly by choice, I'm not huge on knowing history, so I didn't know Indy 1-3 was based on a type of movie from the old days, and that 4 was based on a type from another time, but with 1-3 all being based on the same time they felt right together and 4 to me felt out of place, that's what I disliked about it my first viewing. Then Carl and Josh explained the history of film and why KOTCS was how it is and it made sense and I stopped looking at it like it didn't fit with 1-3, because it's not so much meant to in style, and just see it as is. I also never heard of the real crystal skull myth, but the religious stuff from the first 3, I knew enough about religion that it seemed plausible, KOTCS seemed made up and goofy to me without knowing the reality of it. I think of the 4, KOTCS is the least accessible to a mass audience without a certain level of prior knowledge.

Anyway, this figure looks great and I can't wait to play with it, and in my own way, I do mean play. Little adventures of Indy to catch on my camera.

I think that was an issue with lots of people with KOTCS. The whole its Indy but a different style type thing.

I agree the figure looks awesome and I can't wait to have it.

Yup, and from the POV, KOTCS does suck, but if you can know and understand the conscious reasons why that is and have that make sense to you, then it becomes an entertaining film.

To Celebrate the impending Release of this Fig, I just picked up the SE ROTLA DVD for $10 at Virgin! $10!!! Widescreen version...

Also snared Casino Royale 2 Disc DVD Set for $10, hehe.

These are non blu-ray specials, duh, still nice grab.

The Virgin here closed years ago! :angelsmil

I think it had everything to do with two key things in the film. Tarzan Shia and flying saucers. Tarzan Shia was the equivalent of Jar Jar and henceforth unforgivably WRONG :lol.

I understand the appeal of SciFi and Adventure films. Especially those of the 50's. But for obvious reasons we never saw Buster Crabbe as Flash Gordon Conquers the Mummy's Curse or Allan Quartermain meets the Martians from Planet ZOG. They're oil and water.

The great thing about the first three Indy movies is that, sure they were fiction, but they "could" have happened. There was a real sense of believability to them. KOTCS was just over the top fantastical. Taking an archeologist and putting him in a SciFi-ish element was a total fish out of water and there were so many plot holes and "simple" explanations that even at the end, Indy was written to say, "huh?!" I think if Lucas had actually given Steve and Harrison the benefit of the doubt, stuck to the original mystique of the skulls, and left the Ailen/interdimentional being/UFO junk out, it would've been that much better.

i have to admit, i always loved the religious fantasy elements of the older indy films. i have a thing for myths and legends based on religion. and the alien thing being a departure from that really felt like lucas and spielberg deliberately wanted to step away from that just for the sake of surprising the audience (and also to play on the 50s sci-fi fascination obviously). still, it was an indy film and there were enough cool action sequences to make it enjoyable. which is why i can't wait to see an old withered indy by SS. i'm dedicating a whole section of my display for the oldies comeback - a die hard 4 mcclane, indy 4 indy, rocky 6 rocky, rambo 4 rambo, and eventually a beverly hills cop 4 foley. now i just have to convince some 1/6 companies out there to release all those damn figures!!

From the commentary on the DVD, it was clear that Speilberg and Ford didn't want to go the SciFi route.

As for the figs, there's a decent Willis Tears of the Sun headsculpt that can easily be worked into a good McClane if you don't mind a custom job and Medicom did an Indy 4 Indy (albeit with mixed results).

Spoke w/ Jennifer at SSC , was told that Indy will definatly be in next week and will probably start shipping by the middle of the week if not sooner . Also they have have no extenuating circumstances like other promotions ect going
on so shipping should be normal . Most of the EX's should by shipped by Thanksgiving. So take it for what its worth.

Great news! Gonna be a good Turkey Day then. :)
