Okay, so it shouldn't be much longer now since Sideshow has actual product pics of the Toht and the final version of the Ark on their site. The Ark still looks like crayon gold which was the deciding factor in keeping this preorder, so I just cancelled it. I'll be sticking with my Hasbro, shiny gold version.

I am extremely impressed with the sack cloth pole covers though. Very nice.

It looks like they'll be doing the same packaging as with the Belloq Exc where the figure is in the usual box with a shiny gold Exc sticker on it, and the Ark will be in its own box.

Yea just saw that. I see a lot of cancellations. I never got a Hasbro ark so I am keeping mine to have one.

Yep, suddenly the Exc. is open for pre-order again. Admittedly, I would much prefer to have those carrying poles from the Sideshow version to replace the cheapy looking ones from the Hasbro. Otherwise the Hasbro one is better just by virtue of the finish.

Thanks for the heads-up, SilentSurfer. Yeah, I'm not digging the matte finish on the Ark, but like Something Sexy said, I missed out on the Hasbro version so I'm keeping this.

Interesting that they did that fabric detailing on the bars, though.

Yes, it is plastic, but every bit as detailed. The only thing that was kinda weak were the carrying poles, but not $170 worth of bad.

Here's one of the Hasbro Arks for about the difference of not getting the Toht with it. And since he turned out so rubber doll head looking, I don't care about him in the collection anymore. Why is it that none of Sideshow's protos look like the porducts, and it's never the same difference. You never know just how it will look different.

That is definitely a cool bonus though,although I am not sure how screen accurate that is. Been a while since I have seen up close shots of the Ark.

That is cool. I think the only reason I would prefer the SSC is just because it should weigh a little more. I do like the Hasbro finish much more though.

I had been keeping an eye on those Hasbro Arks, and it seems that they always stayed in that $60-$70 range. The only hope was if you could get the UPC pieces on ebay for about $30 or get the actual figures when they were being clearanced out.

I love the shiny finish on the Hasbro one, but I'll be content with the Sideshow one.

And I think Toht's looking pretty good in the new Sideshow shots, save for the glasses, of course.

I had been keeping an eye on those Hasbro Arks, and it seems that they always stayed in that $60-$70 range. The only hope was if you could get the UPC pieces on ebay for about $30 or get the actual figures when they were being clearanced out.

Yea the glasses are definitely a killer here. REALLY BAD! But this has been said over and over again. I do think the sculpt/paint might be soft but that can get repainted BUT I always planned on displaying him for the most part with the melty face anyways.

I was personally shocked at how he turned out when I first opened one of the regular figure boxes at a local shop. It was all about the Ark, and if it would turn out shiny at that point.

My Hasbro Ark was obtained by buying one of this completed sticker forms from eBay for only $30. Not bad.

The Sideshow one weighing a lot would be a nice feature in 1/6 though, but not better to me than the visual finish.

Bad way. The most Barbie looking figure they have done. Reminds me of the old Prophecy Buffy with rooted hair. I don't want it in my collection. I intended to use the melty head, too, but wasn't impressed with that either, though I could have touched it up with some paint. Even so, the glasses suck balls.

hehe excellent. Yea the $170 is gonna kill me this month, especially with PZ Pf coming but oh well I planned for this (for this most part ).

ZOMG, I was hesitant with German Disguise Indy but I did anyways. Those boats are gonna get replaced instantly.
