I think she turned out pretty good! Congrats risingstar. The only thing I'm not really sold on is the psycho abdominal muscles. She looks a little 'scrawny-toned' for my liking. Faith was never this thin. Then again, the whole line is a tad sexualised I suppose (with the females). Still, I'm looking forward to getting mine in a few weeks (Australia here lol).

Question: who does the paint job on these? They all say made in China, so wondering, is it just the design and development done by Sideshow in the US, and then the rest gets done off-shore in Asia? Surely sideshow would have to look over them all though before they ship to their customers?

I think she turned out pretty amazing. But I will wait till I can see her with my own eyes before I make final judgement. Next week can't come soon enough now. :impatient:

Thanks for sharing the pics! :wave

I am not sure about how I personally feel about the eyes though, especially when compared to what Sideshow put up on their site to promote it, but I will reserve judgement until I get mine. Sooooo nervous!

What day is she arriving?

I always seem to be the last person to get mine. And then when I post pics, everyone says 'soooooo one week ago.' :rotfl :(

I must agree with you on the she-hulk abs. That was my only real gripe with the piece (but a minor one in my mind). I'd say this Faith's "look" goes more hand in hand with the Season 8 comic series. Not that I care. I'm just happy that I will be owning one of these beauties soon! I can look past the scary she-male bodybuilder abs. :)

I think anyone on a WL that's worried it may not convert, get the regular. The difference is a weapon, so you are at least not missing out on a portrait. I realize it's her knife, but still. I'd recommend going with the regular, and selling it if the ex ever converts.

And btw Risingstar, I love Mystique.

Thanks. Mystique looks awesome. Below is a link to a series of pics I took of her sometime last year. Highly recommended piece.
It's a shame we don't see subtle paint/brush strokes like this anymore. For some inexplicable reason, these days, paint apps
on eyes look thick and sloppy, and often suffer from that dreaded lazy-eye effect.

One day I hope to get her. But I need to find her for cheap. Too much coming.

Thank you for the link.

@Chap, don't worry, I will still want to see your photos.

I open my faith and Im quite happy with it, however I found there are some slight paint issues on the figure, particularly with the face. The figure i have seem to have some excess paint on the face, particularly near the nose (that area seems to be a bit rough compared to the other parts of the face), and on the cheek you can see sort of like brush stroke on one end. I tried to take a picture with my camera, but I can't seem to capture it properly, its not really showing.

On the hand with the knife, there's a hairline scratch on the hand. With these issue, do you think I should ask for a replacement figure?

I think I'm at a stage with SS where I generally ask for replacements if I really don't like how it turned out. Otherwise, I risk getting one even worse than the first. That happened with a recent PF purchase. The rep was so adamant about me destroying the PF before shipping the replacement. I ended up getting one with even more problems, e.g., the arm was glued on crooked (an obvious flaw), and the lazy eye effect was even worse the second time around. I specifically asked them to inspect the piece prior to shipping it out too. I then settled for a refund on a piece I actually wanted. Sometimes reps start to lose patience when the item you received is even worse, as if it was your doing. I'm also not too keen on a rep even subtlely suggesting that I may be overeacting when a figure's eyes are looking in two different directions. What a debacle that was...

By the way, is the string on your crossbow tight or loose?

Yeah I agree, it's not a major issue. I must say the overall look and attitude of the piece is most definitely spot-on Faith. So with that, I love it.

I do think this is an exceptional line, and the likeness so far are pretty damn good. There's something still about my Buffy on throne that I look at and it doesn't quite work. All my friend's say it's the hair sculpt and urine yellow colour and I tend to agree. If I block out the hair and just look at the face, there is a bit of a better resemblance to SMG. Anyway, I'm digressing :p

The Buffy is a strange one because from some angles I see SMG, then from another angle it looks like someone else, it's weird. I think the hair is the main issue, when did Buffy ever have hair that colour - it was either light blonde, or reddish brown in the later seasons, it was never the colour represented on the statue.

That being said I love the Buffy one and I wouldn't collect the others without her. I personally think the Willow is the poorer statue in the line, seems completely out of character and even though the likeness to Hannigan is great, it just doesn't seem Willow to me.

I think the Spike and the Angel one's will be the best in the line. This Faith also looks good - though I'm still on the waitlist so I don't know if I'll get one yet:(

really?? my one and only time I ask for a replacement was for the throne of buffy statue, I had them replace my box and the chair. They delivered the item first, then ask me to destroy what I had.

Hmm, crossbow seems okay. Man, I took some pictures already....will upload them soon, but I also notice 2 small holes (think staple holes) at her left arm. Weird, only saw it when I was viewing the jpeg at my computer.

crap, the eyes also seems a bit weird when I viewed it up close.

That's one reason why I hate digital photography. :lol

I love when I look at a piece and get the feeling of satisifaction, seeing it's mint.....only to take photos moments later that expose all of the flaws I couldn't see with my eyes. :gah:

Okay, here are some pictures I took last night:

There's 2 holes in Faith's arm

There's some excess paint and rough area in Faith's nose. There some paint brush stroke on her left cheek (but it really hard to photograph and Im afraid its not showing in the photo) BTW, what do you guys think of the eyes on Faith??

here's the scratches on the hand.

So do you guys think I should ask for a replacement? Would appreciate your inputs on these. thanks!

If it makes you feel any better, the eyes on my Faith look rushed too. The fellow who posted pics at SF reported that his eyes looked rough as well.

The pic of the hand looks magnified by 20. I think anything magnified to that extreme is bound to show some flaws. Speaking for myself, I'm waiting to see what the other Faiths look like. If it seems like everyone received eyes like ours then we'd likely be wasting everyone's time trying to get something better. Like I said in an earlier post, recently, I have felt compelled to lower my bar with regards to paint apps, otherwise, I may never buy another statue again (sadly). As is, the statue is livable. Is it ideal, perhaps not.

Ultimately, what you think is what matters most. If you feel unhappy with your piece, then call SS. If you're not sure, take a few days to think about it.
Sometimes I find that sleeping on it for a few days helps. This doesn't strike me as a Rogue type scenario, not yet anyway.

P.S. Either they used old paint or an old brush on the eyes. Or, they hired someone just to do the eyes. Whatever the case, the eyes could have been better.

The pics above are taken with a flash therefore it makes her looks fugly. It also doesn't help that the pic are taken so close. I think it's looks ok.

I'm not one for returning things with defects, but honestly, I would probably complain about that one. Can't let ssc get away with even the smallest things these days. Because they will keep letting things slide until half the crap we get is...crap!

@eric352 I'm sorry, but those eyes qualify for a replacement. Über-sloppy. I hope not every Faith statue looks like that.
