I'm fine with making corrections for poor prop construction in vintage movies. The ends justify the means. :). Face it, most of the costumes in the original trilogy were crap, made from spit, scraps of cardboard and secondhand paint. If you got two scenes with continuity in dress or multiple copies of a uniform looking even slightly similar you were very lucky.

Not even the people who worked on the movies can tell you today what's definitive.

Hahahaha. Custom 1/6 figures have really messed up my view on 1/6 pricing. Anything $400 and under seems like a bargain now for figures I really want hahaha.

One of the many reasons I don't buy customs. cost 3-4 times more, and frequently not as good as mass-produced products that are cheaper.

I think it would do well for everyone to remember that this Vader will not be specific to any scene or movie. Screen caps and calipers are useless for this Vader. The only thing you can validly judge him on is purely his aesthetic appeal.

I tend to agree with that... but with Vader, those unintentional bits of the costume really create his look. The asymmetry of the mask, painted streaks on the cheeks, dull dome versus shiny. The little details really do make a difference between a "looks like Vader" and "damn, that's perfect".

The recent EFX piece is a great example... it screams ANH Vader unlike anything before it.

Who's up for recreating this look,

Personally I can't tell the difference between Sideshow's dome and the real thing. As long as he isn't a Medicom midget or a Sideshow ANH giant I think he'll be just fine.

Some things just need to look like they're supposed to.
