Honestly I think they may just have one figure --

That will make me perfectly happy too.

In the end, all I really need is for there to be two lightsabers, and that they be as accurate at the first one was. As long as I can have that much to distinguish my ESB Vader from my ROTJ Vader, I could not care less about the rest.

I have always been curious as to why such inconsequential details make a difference to some people.

I agree that most people could care less -- but some people are character focused -- my star wars collection is, for the most part vader-based, and so I appreciate the subtleties -- I also appreciate that there are those who don't care, so my expectations are fairly low in terms of what length most manufacturers will go to -- but as an artist, i also appreciate small details that make all the difference to we who are most familiar with the particular subject--

As a Vader collector, as far as I'm concerned - prop-level things must be as accurate as realistically possible -- statues should be relatively impressive and somewhat accurate (though I've had a few vaders with reversed belt buckles - again no one would know, but it's so glaring to me it's like looking at it in the mirror) and toys should be passable enough...

I guess that's another familiarity we have -- many of us are so familiar with Vader's face that a reverse image, out of the context of the movies, actually looks weird...Vaders face being nonsymmetrical, has a certain look that we are subconsciously familiar with, that becomes apparent, when we see a mirror image of it.

I'm sure there were few of us who realized that the Vader used for Marketing the STAR WARS TRILOGY on DVD was a Vader we've never ever seen before -or there was something "different" about it -
sure - b/c it is symmetrical, entirely black in the helmet, and the armour is a completely different sculpt, the "leather" is no longer leather, the cape is cut differently and exposes the shoulder armour (which many thought were fused to the chest armour) --everything was brand new and different(except for half his face which is a scan of an original trilogy Vader)
- (this was the first onslought of the Hayden Christensen Ep.3 Vader the public had ever seen even before Episode 3 ever came out...

But in terms of SS - it should be passable enough, I think -- better than the ANH anyway
(I thought that SS prototype was perfect enough - even if the details here and there are off-off enough were even Hasbro didn't make certain errors like on the chest armour - or dome)

The height has been corrected according to SS
The cape - unfortunately I think will be the same lightweight material
The Helmet- they said was supposed to tbe impressive (fingers crossed :)

IF it's Hot Toys -- that's another story -- for 250 plus smackers I EXPECT the specific details to be spot on (it's times like this you want the producer/sculptor/production manager of the toy to be MORE of a fanatic than you are - fat chance, but it does happen once in a while!)-- it's not difficult to reference since there're lots of source materials and they live for that kind of accuracy (though ironically their Alien line has suffered in that department)

I think Sideshow will be pushing a very high price on this... Boba was $175; so I figure Vader will at least be more than that.

Grievous was supposed to be $200. I can't imagine Vader would be more than him, especially if they end up putting both up for sale at around the same time. I wonder if they'll end up raising the price on G just to have him cost more than Vader.

Although Grievous was $200 a year ago... nothing prevents Sideshow from upping the price now. It's happened in the past :lecture

They have to know they'll sell a lot of both of them, and probably a lot more if they're $200 or less.

Or maybe they know they'll sell a lot even over $200. :dunno

I hope I'm wrong, but no PO in nearly a year usually means something is canceled (which I dont' think will be the case) or its more complicated that expected and might end up costing more.

My bet would be that they're having a VERY difficult time matching Nathan's paint job.

Edit - and I can't see it being cancelled. Seems like they're saving all of the PO's for next month.

THAT would be AWESOME! Didn't Hasbro do a 3 3/4 version that way?

Yeah...so now I'm wantin'.
