It won't have a widow's peak.

And it seems like the problem with the ANH dome is that it's shaped more like an ESB/ROTJ dome.

I wouldn't even say that -- the ANH dome simply rests a little lower -- the overall shape would be the same (a little more flared on Jedi I think)

The dome was manufactured in such a way that you can see the sides are practically confined in a boxy parallel shape from the bird's eye view -- I don't know why they didn't round out the skirt of the dome the way it's supposed to be -- seems the prototype had the correct shape...which is why everyone noticed the production piece looked different...(maybe it was cheaper to manufacture the way they did for that part...bad corner to cut methinks)

Some of the pics a few pages back made it look like the last two were not as round in the skirt as the first one.

I remember the prototype clearly. The change was pretty obvious.

so do I....the prototype at comic con looked just fine..

Heck if it looks just as good as the newest addition to the artfx+ line....the newsest vader as featured on rebelscum this last week, i'll b happy enough

Two domes could mean a solid replacement for the ANH version though.

In what way? Its a different helmet and suit in ANH compared to minor changes in the second and third versions. Like work one of the helms into looking like an ANH helmet?

I hope I'm wrong, but no PO in nearly a year usually means something is canceled (which I dont' think will be the case) or its more complicated that expected and might end up costing more.

You mean Grievous? I would bet my life that this is still happening. What they had last year was basically a statue and they were still working on all articulation aspects.

I would bet they've found that articulation and keeping it from snapping in places inversely affect each other. If they pull this off and its decent and not fragile it will be one of their greatest works to date.

Yeah, I can't imagine that articulation/breakage are not a major issue for this figure. Anyone that's gotten IG-88 knows how light and fragile he feels and his body is so much bulkier, stable and straight-forward than Grievous. I can't see how they could even get Grievous to stand on his own or make his arms able to articulate and hold the pose without guaranteeing that a ton of them are going to break once out in the wild. As an example, imagine if he has any joints that suffer from the same issue as IG-88's shoulders (excessively tight)? There's no chance I'd even try and force them in a case like that because his limbs are just so ridiculously thin and presumably brittle. Don't envy SSC trying to make this figure workable in 1:6 at all.

True. This will/would be one fragile figure. Can you imagine all the QC issues people will be having with pieces breaking? Ugh...

Maybe if they found a softer plastic much like what HT uses for their figures hands there wouldnt be much problem? :dunno

I'm sure they've worked very hard to make sure this all comes together. It seemed like at comic-con last year they had a good head start on that.

Congrats, hes awesome :hi5:

That does look good.

Sometimes I wish I had the discipline to collect nothing but Darth Vader figures and props.

Its tough....i do get other character items though....let me rephrase that...i also collect other characters...whole collections of other single characters... And oddball items once in a while

Vader is the only character that I collect for outside of 1:6, but there's a lot that I've missed for the sake of my 1:6 collection. I'm constantly trying to find ways to limit non-Vader stuff, but it's nearly impossible. DC 1:4 scale has sealed my fate in that regard.

I suppose I could always substitute discipline for wealth. :lol

Do you have a collection thread here? Or just at Rebelscum?
