Any display of the SS ROTJ Vader dueling HT Bespin Luke is not screen accurate regardless of height issues!

Speaking for myself, I don't know the difference between the two, and I am sure the difference would be minimal anyway (unlike the RotJ vs ANH). So it doesn't bother me in the slightest.

I don't understand this height obsession.

I don't care for indulging in the obsession, but I certainly understand it. He's too tall, and that to me, as a designer, is curious - especially given all the details they got right. But he's not too tall for me - I'm fine enough with the original SS Vader's height not to bother with a body swap, and I certainly wouldn't worry about this one. But size is just another detail, and some people are really, really finicky about some details more so than others. Great pics rubio! I'm sure more and more will flood in in the coming days and weeks.

I don't understand this height obsession. I think that the height is fine, and I don't care about how it displays with other figures. As long as it's not ridiculous (it's not), then it works fine with other figures from the line.

I'm a fan of Medicom (the bodies are still VASTLY superior to SideShow AND Hot Toys), but they're underscaled. However, the SideShow figures' scale is obscene (compare this new Vader's hands to the Snowtrooper, for example. Or to Boba Fett's). It doesn't matter to me, though, because each figure is beautiful unto itself (and that's coming from a guy who loves to PHOTOGRAPH figures). The same love of Medicom which leads me to adore those (undersized) figures leads me to adore this new Vader, who is obviously still oversized. It makes me feel great that scale TRULY doesn't bother me (up or down).

I just don't understand this venom that's being displayed towards Vader, regarding his height. He's well-proportioned and looks fantastic.

Considering there are so few photographers here (or even people who grasp how to even pose these guys) I just don't understand the vitriol.

Aint that the truth!

The height thing isn't an issue for me at all. To be honest, I am much more concerned about the dome not being wide enough.

There's only one Vader, and unless you're a prop purist, there's no in-universe reason for small differences from movie to movie. Vader did not order in a new set of armor.

You could have stopped right there and your position would have been clear as a bell. It's a great figure. No arguments there. But if the height is "fine" to you, it may not be to others. You show a tremendous amount of disrespect to other members while trying to defend the product. Something's not right about that to me. No one here is showing disrespect to Sideshow for having produced this figure and no one is showing disrespect to members who love the figure and don't care about its flaws.

As long as it's not ridiculous (it's not), then it works fine with other figures from the line.

I suppose that's a matter of perspective. The shots of Vader with SSC's Boba and HT's Luke Luke somewhat ridiculous to me. Not the same as posing a Kenner Vader at almost 15" but still noticeably out of scale - bothersome.

I'm a fan of Medicom (the bodies are still VASTLY superior to SideShow AND Hot Toys),

This isn't a Medicom thread, but I'm curious in what way you think they're superior? I think they're garbage. Very poor plastics, bad joints, bad glue, bad proportions, overall fragile. Plenty of people doing body swaps for a reason.

SideShow figures' scale is obscene (compare this new Vader's hands to the Snowtrooper, for example.

Do you participate in any winter sports? Is there snow where you're from? I'll give you the gloves may not be precisely screen accurate, but they're not obscene by any stretch of the imagination. Winter gloves are always gong to be bigger than tight-fitting leather task gloves.

leads me to adore this new Vader, who is obviously still oversized. It makes me feel great that scale TRULY doesn't bother me (up or down).

GREAT. I've seen that everyone who has mentioned the height has been otherwise positive about the figure as a whole, myself included. Sideshow did a fantastic job, it's easily the best Vader ever produced in articulated form.

I just don't understand this venom that's being displayed towards Vader, regarding his height. He's well-proportioned and looks fantastic.

There's no venom, take the hyperbole down a notch. You agree he's oversized in one sentence and then claim it's venom from others? Well proportioned yes on his own, yes for the most part, but your photos show the helmet as problematic - it looks bad in many of the photos, just like with Sideshow's own photos, so it's nothing about your photographic skills. Compare to what it looks like in King's photos.

Considering there are so few photographers here (or even people who grasp how to even pose these guys) I just don't understand the vitriol.

I'm not sure that you're actually making a point here or just trying to insult other members again. Here's posting tip for you specific to Vader. He's right handed and never holds his saber, lit or unlit, in his left hand. It looks very out of place.

This is a truly awesome figure. Stop debating the insignificant nuances and just enjoy what is SideShow's finest effort in the 1/6th game EVER.

Stop telling other people what to do. Do what you want and let other people do the same. Sounds reasonable, no?

And please, people, post some more pics. I'm truly surprised in the lack of new pics.

You haven't read that most people are still waiting to receive this guy? Half the posts in here have been about charge and shipping times. Then there are other people, myself included, asking for new photos, not reposts. If you have the figure in hand, how about some other photos that people have asked for? No need to repost, especially since you've already said you're fundamentally against it.

Aint that the truth!

It ain't.

Oh man...now I need this Vader and a Bespin Luke...

rubio....your pictures (and the poses) are fantastic....I think you'll see more pics in here in the next week as more folks get their figure (I know I'm still waiting for him to arrive....sometime this week I hope). And yes, the complaint brigade is pretty loud lately (the brown/blue thing over in the Hoth Han thread is hitting operatic levels of insanity)....just tune it out and bring on more shots...they are speaking for themselves on the great quality and execution of this figure.

More pics will come...but your act will be a tough one to follow....keep 'em coming!

Does anyone remember who took the original photo that I modified below? I've searched a few times but can't remember what thread it was from and I'd like to add credit to the comp in my Flickr stream.

Vader just seemed taller in the movies:

I don't either! I know there is but not sure what! Trying to be funny. Anyway, this figure kicks ***! Of course, I thought the first one was cool too.

Why is it a few people keep insisting on turning this into a height thread? You don't like the height fine just pass on the figure and move on. Stop posting stupid pictures and drawing lines e.t.c. We get it. You don't like the height of the figure. Its not going to make me and most people cancel their order.

Jesus. ...:lol

At this point we really should have a Vader modification thread anyway. That way it can encompass the mods/discussion about height and all other stuff i. e. body swapping, the mixing and matching of different Vader parts etc.

Why do some people just want to cut up other people and focus on either turning the thread into an argument or trying to control how other people express themselves? Instead of, you know, maybe focusing on the figure? I haven't seen anyone trying to get anyone else to cancel their order.

When I saw that my order was about to ship, I kind of hoped more people would have already received their shipment, but obviously that's not the case. Photos elsewhere on the net are also very hard to come by.
