Carrie Fisher is standing on a box in that pic Jim.

Here's a behind the scenes picture showing the true difference between Carrie Fisher and David Prowse's height. (Ignore the 5ft note on there, that's incorrect - not sure where the original image came from).

Also, Ford was not 6ft 1". According to the man who met him for costume fittings for Raiders, Temple of Doom and Last Crusade, Ford was 5ft 11" (barefoot).

I like this pic cause it clearly shows leia, Carrie Fisher 5'1" only comes up to the bottom of Vader's neck on his mask.

I agree, They're trying to present the best possible frame in that scene.
Carrie is obviously much shorter to Prowse then that without the film tricks.

The height of the ESB Vader is as acceptable to me as the height of the ANH Vader. As long as Vader is close enough to 1:6 scale and looks imposing over my other SW figures I'm happy.

Wow! Holy *****! I've never seen that image but yes definitely puts it into perspective.

I need a box too. Has anyone started a custom for sale thread?

Some of these "behind the scenes" pics are more interesting than what we see on screen. :lol

Thats the only good thing about these arguments. Really gets people posting some interesting stuff.

Yup, Carrie Fisher is pretty short. Now, if the producers had wanted Vader to be as tall as Chewbacca, they would have had Peter Mayhew play him too. Or at the very least made sure Prowse always had a box to stand on. Lots of good screen caps in the link I posted earlier, but it's more of a discussion for a different thread.

How much work has to be done to this Vader to get him to pose (very) well with DX07? Has anyone looked at the ankle pegs yet?

Also, is it possible to pull the red blade out of the lightsaber hilt without damaging either of them?

I think you should pass on SS Vader.

Shelf needs a Vader. This looks like the best one ever produced. It's likely the last one to be produced for at least another 5+ years. I ordered in October and it'll be delivered on Wednesday.

Blue cold cathode for Luke arrives within the next week or so, red for Vader next month sometime. I generally don't modify SSC/Hot Toys products, but this one looks like it really needs to be one of the few.

I suspect most of the things that people did with the ANH Vader in respect to the height can be done to this here ESB/ROTJ Vader. The things that were done or thought could be done were went over ad nauseam. That's why I suspect a lot of the older members don't even want to be bothered with the mods this time around. Have you went through the ANH Vader thread?

I've popped into the ANH Vader thread once or twice over the past year, but only to reference something when reading other threads. I thought the most popular mod was a body swap for the other guy, something I'd like to avoid like the plague. ;)

The helmet adjustment seems like a very nice improvement, going by King's awesome photos. If the height can be reduced another little bit with alternate ankle pegs without messing up his leg-to-torso proportions noticeably, I'd love to go that route and possibly call it a day. I'll need to figure out how to best conceal the wiring for the cathode saber mod and to power the chest LEDs, but I'll wait until I have the figure in hand before starting down that path, there are just too many possibilities and variables to cover in a few photos ahead of time.

Any display of the SS ROTJ Vader dueling HT Bespin Luke is not screen accurate regardless of height issues!

I don't understand this height obsession. I think that the height is fine, and I don't care about how it displays with other figures. As long as it's not ridiculous (it's not), then it works fine with other figures from the line.

I'm a fan of Medicom (the bodies are still VASTLY superior to SideShow AND Hot Toys), but they're underscaled. However, the SideShow figures' scale is obscene (compare this new Vader's hands to the Snowtrooper, for example. Or to Boba Fett's). It doesn't matter to me, though, because each figure is beautiful unto itself (and that's coming from a guy who loves to PHOTOGRAPH figures). The same love of Medicom which leads me to adore those (undersized) figures leads me to adore this new Vader, who is obviously still oversized. It makes me feel great that scale TRULY doesn't bother me (up or down).

I just don't understand this venom that's being displayed towards Vader, regarding his height. He's well-proportioned and looks fantastic.

Considering there are so few photographers here (or even people who grasp how to even pose these guys) I just don't understand the vitriol.

This is a truly awesome figure. Stop debating the insignificant nuances and just enjoy what is SideShow's finest effort in the 1/6th game EVER.

And please, people, post some more pics. I'm truly surprised in the lack of new pics. I'm fundamentally against reposting one's own photos, but since no one else is posting new ones, I will:
