Fast turnaround. Just in time too as it looks like they're sold out.

Yup. I'm glad I got in when I did. :)
I don't think I'll be using the Ex. but I've been really wanting to see it in hand. The severed inner arm and little wire detailing look neat. Plus, lets be honest, its nice to have the Ex.

Ok, now what's up with this talk of different heights? Has this been positively confirmed, or mistaken?

Just opened my vader up. First impression? What is that smell!! I had to let him air out a bit. Is that normal?

that looks like some twisted shat right out of a tool video.........:lol

Here is a question for those of you who have both the ANH and ESB figures:

Which figure has the wider dome (at the top)?

I just ordered this guy. I used Flexpay, so he won't be coming until March. I try to confine my 1/6 figure spending some, to certain lines. This will be my first (and likely last) Star Wars figure. But it's the kind of figure you can order and then be done with. At least, for me. I am just hugely impressed by the pictures I've seen. I haven't gotten anything from Sideshow since I bought the Gandalf figure they put out. So, it'll be cool to see how their builds are these days. I'm a wee bit nervous about some of the QC issues, but it sounds like it's easy to get replacements if there are issues.

March seems very far away!

I successfully added some filler to beef-up the arms. Here's how:

1) remove head, cape, hands, shoulder/chest armors
2) slip inner robe sleeves down each shoulder, pass bent arms through holes, pull top of robe down a bit
3) on the back, unfasten small plastic buckle of chest respirator box's harness straps
(you squeeze it in the middle to release)
4) slip harness straps down over both shoulders, passing both arms through, to allow free arm movement
5) unfasten velcro down center rear of body suit

(now you have access to the upper arms of the suit through the neck opening)

6) using the tip of the light saber blade, (at least it's good for something)
stuff small folded pieces of toilet paper into each bicep area
7) mold them into form by hand, add more if needed
8) suit up.

DONE. Well, almost; I'll be inserting a bit of stuffing through the wrist holes,
to add some muscle thickness to the upper forearms.

I just did mine, and the arms look much better.
Of course you can use some other filler material, like synthetic cotton stuffing...
but I used toilet paper, just in case Vader has to use the little sith's room.

debating for weeks on this, finally just pre-ordered the Ex last night from Sideshow. not sure if I'll keep it but now that it's on waitlist, it sure does feel better that I have the choice

What do you mean you are not sure if you will keep it? You might return it when it arrives?

"You've been flying around for two weeks trying to get a signal? Eew! You must smell like feet wrapped in leathery burnt bacon!"

Papa Palpatine
Robot Chicken.

Anyone know how flexible these are? I want to position them at his mouth but I don't want to break them by accident.

Aside from this little problem I had no QC issues with my Vader.

Based on how they've done the measurements, I trust the people who have posted about it. Some have included pictures of the tape measure or ruler. The half inch difference is too great for a simple mis-read when the figure is laid/stood perfectly straight. Not to mention the differences in photos when put up against other figures.

We've had confirmation of at least one instance of un-popped joints, but when remedied, that still didn't get the figure down to what some people had measured.

Crazy right?

A half inch?? Damn. Might explain why those early rebelscum pics didn't show much of a difference in height from old to new Vader. I'm even more curious to get this in hand now. :lol

I'm a little late with this one and just placed my order. I only have 1 other Sideshow SW figure (442nd Clone) so this will be a nice addition. Plus I used my reward points so it was only $160.
