Alas, 100 times alas ... Welcome to the club, mate!

As I already wrote in my post #8991 8 days ago, the same bad surprise at the opening of the box. But Christina from the SS team did the job and the 2 lightsabers should not be long now.

Are you the same Baloo at Replica Forum?

Unboxed and got him displayed, truly stunned. The cape is way higher quality than I thought it would be. Pleased all around :clap

I'll post pics tomorrow with my Hot Toys Luke.

How come your ANH Vader is shorter than your ROTJ Vader? Is he on a different body?

I still think ANH Vader looks great!

No body change - The custom dome maybe sits a tad lower. But the shoulders are about even.

^ I would like to know this too.

Also, I'm assuming that's a self potrait sculpt on the Malgus body there, Dave? Who made it for you?

That's one of my dream projects. Commissioning a sculpt of myself done and bashing a figure together.

No, this was a gift from Sideshow and the members of this forum at SDCC 2 years ago - Trevor did the sculpt and Sideshow did the costume. My avatar is based on the original painting Sideshow also did of the character which is actually 30 x 40 and is hanging in my stairwell.

dave gets the cool stuff................why?....................cuz he's da man !!!!

That's so strange, the plot thickens...

If ANH Vader was 14.25" and the new ROTJ Vader is 13.5" (or even 13.75") you'd think ANH Vader would be taller by at least half an inch.

You either got a short ANH Vader or a tall ROTJ Vader. Someone crossed the streams!

The cape is excellent. I think it's better than any of the custom ones I have. And I have a few!
:rock

That's exactly what I was telling a friend today, the fabric is excellent, has a slight stretchy quality to it and flows freely, hangs naturally with no futzing needed, really nice. :rock

From the very first clear production pics, I thought the gloves looked too matte, as opposed to having a leather-like sheen.
This matte surface also makes them look lighter than the rest of the black costume.
I just discovered a REALLY EASY mod for more screen-accurate gloves: POLISH THE RUBBER GLOVES WITH A CLOTH.
It's harmless, you can't break anything, and you WILL make them shinier, which also makes them look black, not charcoal gray. The more I polish it, the shinier it gets- but it takes time.
(I'm using a micro-fiber cloth, for cleaning LCD monitors.)
I just did the same thing with the feet, and they look a lot better too. Gives it just the right leather-like sheen.

Still out for delivery. He usually delivers from 10-11AM but it's near 6PM. Why today of all days. :(

The exact opposite w/me.

Usually the UPS driver comes by after 6pm. Today was the day...............3:51 pm and I was still @ work & my wife was picking up my son. A notice was left.

I called UPS & the rep suggested to have the driver drop off the package to my neighbor's house.

So I should be good to go. I talked w/my neighbor and he was cool.

Just opened up Vader and I'm happy to say he is 100% damage free. :yess:

No marks on both helmets
No missing tusks
No frayed cape
Nothing wrong with the sculpt
Light box is working properly

I'm considering picking up a TTM20 to fill out the suit nicely and lower the height a bit. With his current height he can't even fit on my display shelf.

I really wish Sideshow had made the Anakin head itself removable from the helmet jaw, instead of gluing it into place.
That way it could be repainted or customized if desired, or replaced with a custom Shaw sculpt, etc. It would also allowed a view of the entire mask from the inside, upper and lower halves, to get a full view of 'what Vader sees' from his perspective.
It also would allow the owner to glue the little breathing tubes into place if they're loose or fall off.
As it is now, I'm afraid to even try to remove the head, for fear of breaking something. I'm NOT going to even attempt to glue on the little breathing tube myself, because it would be very easy to get super glue everywhere, and ruin the whole piece. I mean, there's NO way to access that tiny, cramped little space where the tube should be glued on, between the cheek and mask jaw. Therefor, the only solution is a full replacement. It's a shame...

I have unglued it because the head wasn't in the correct position (leaning on the side) and now I don't want to glued it in place again..I will keep it in that way..my tubes are very flexible..strange about yours..

My issue with it is, it got a little out shape under the belt line so I tried to water treat and it just beaded off......lol other then that it's great though even when layered it tends to flatten which is good for the pose I want to achieve
