As I'm sure you noticed, that helmet is only held down just an 1/8" size dollop of glue
If only that had been the case with mine; not so. The size of the glue contact between the under side of my dome and the top of the mask-hump was almost a full inch in diameter. That's why it took so many hot water dips to loosen, and why it effected the paint job. Before I finally removed it, I had no way of knowing the dome was glued on with total overkill.
Sorry to hear about the strormtrooper mishap, hope you were able to fix it.
By the way- that photo above has the exact tilt-and-lower that I achieved. Looks great now.

It looks like the smallest indention on the belt buckle is shaped more like a pill instead of a circle, and the ESB has a circle there instead. Also, many people will argue that the hook on the chest armor is more ROTJ, which is true, but only to a certain extent. There was a hook on the chest armor in ESB, but only in a few scenes.
Maybe...maybe in some of the promo pictures. But I don't think the hook is in the movie at all. Show me...curious to see if you're correct.
And welcome to the boards.

Finally got my Vader today. Was missing his left tusk and a breathing tube was detached on the Anakin head. The tube is a quick fix, but not the tusk. I hope there are still some replacement masks available.

Also, my dome on the Vader helmet isn't centered with the bridge of the nose (it is more towards the left side of the mask). This is a mistake right (Not just a screen used prop detailed I'm unaware of)?

Despite these issues, I'm really impressed with it. Happy to finally have a 1/6 Darth Vader on the shelf!

EDIT: Seems like the tube wouldn't be an easy fix. I hoped that it would just be a dab of glue, but upon closer inspection it seems that the end of the tube is missing. If I glued it down it would be a lot shorter than the other side and that would annoy me too much for a $275 figure, heh.

Lowered/tilted the helmet back a bit. Don't know if it is accurate or not, but looks good to me. And gave him a proper stand!

Brilliant! Do you have any more photos, from the side preferably?

Received my Vader today...and what an amazing figure...and mine arrived perfect,no issues what so ever. Really glad I pulled the trigger. SSC deserves credit for one hell of a great figure!!!!!!!

I finally got some time to pop the ANH mask and Hasbro dome onto the ROTJ Vader body. This looks a lot better to me - the larger sized mask and dome works really well with the size of the other components on the ROTJ figure. I didn't really do any futzing or change the hands but here's a quick pic showing the ANH mask and Hasbro dome on the figure.

I just got mine from someone on here and unfortunately it was one with damage to the tusk and the dome. Seller is cool though, and trying to get a replacement for me. Love the figure though. So iconic and a huge part of my childhood. It is an impressive piece.

Figure looks really great and even though I have the ANH version I am very tempted to get this, one thing about some of the pictures although all very nice the "hand on hip" pictures just seem to come over way to camp for vader.

Hmm yeah, possibly too camp for him, although it doesn't bother me very much. I may try switching hands and rest it on his belt.

Always liked when he put his hands behind his back.

Hi everybody!

ordered the rotj vader deluxe a few days, i was looking for two stormtrooper for a future display. Beside the traditionnal sideshow 1/6, is it something wich can match at a decent price?
Do you recognize the model and the scale of theses two?:

Thanks!

Looks like Sideshow troopers: at least feet and crotch are Sideshow. Wow, the Vader helmet in that photo is terribly pointy. :horror

I know that an Hasbro 1/6 figure has existed wich seems not bad:

but i found this from Hasbro too at 1/6 but i don't know if it's the pictures or not but it seems more a doll than a figure... Is it the same product or two differents things...?

Thank you guys!

I like that sizing much better. I guess they did make the noggin a bit small on the ESB/ROTJ.

And back we go to the ANH version.

Is there a difference between the size of the helmet and mask on the loose pieces versus the all-in-one helmet/mask that comes on Vader in this set?

Also, I was actually thinking of using the dome from this set on my ANH Vader, but it sounds like this won't work after all, is that true?

I tried it and didn't like it. At least one other person said they didn't like it either but Cavlcade said he liked it so....

Here's a couple more pics. I didn't push the dome so low down over the eyes this time so it looks more "ESB-ish" in these pics. Although it's still going to look most like the ANH mask because it IS the ANH mask. LOL

Except for the bucket - the rest of the figure is OK and even great for Hasbro, but the Bucket is bad no matter how you look at it. And when you put it up next to any of the 1/6 collectibles from Sideshow, Marmit or even (gasp!) Medicom, it really looks pretty poor in hand by comparison (of course it rocks for the price though!). That's the VOTC (Vintage Original Trilogy Collection) 12" Stormtrooper from 2004, just before Hasbro handed Sideshow a sub-license to make 1/6 premium figures for the collector market.

The second more doll-like version is the original "Collector Series" Hasbro Stormtrooper from 1997-98.
