Except for the bucket, it really looks bad. But when you put it up next to any of the 1/6 collectibles from Sideshow, Marmit or even (gasp!) Medicom, it really looks pretty poor in hand. That's the VOTC (Vintage Original Trilogy Collection) 12" Stormtrooper from 2004, just before Hasbro handed Sideshow a sub-license to make 1/6 premium figures for the collector market.

The second more doll-like version is the original "Collector Series" Hasbro Stormtrooper from 1997-98.

In its prime it was one of the best! Haha. I was so stoked when the line with the Hasbro Trooper and Boba Fett came out.

Marmit was already out, but already discontinued and more difficult to get that they are now. Plus collector pricing versus $25 or however much the Hasbro stuff cost in 2004. The VOTC Boba was a significant improvement over the CS version, that's for sure.

I tried it and didn't like it. At least one other person said they didn't like it either but Cavlcade said he liked it so....

Yeah, I swapped out the domes on my ANH version. Looks good to me.

It looks better than the stock SS ANH dome, that's for sure, but it's too small to use with the SS ANH mask. The mask looks huge with that dome but it should be the other way around - the dome is supposed to be the largest part.

Kind of makes me think he's wearing his kid's helmet.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. On the shelf he looks great. I've never been much of a fan of the Hasbro Dome.

So SSC got back to me and theyll be sending be a replacement Vader head and display dome when they get their stock in. They didn't ask me to smash anything up......yet.

Yeah, the VOTC Boba isn't a bad figure really. I've seen people modify it and do wonders.

Hi everybody!

ordered the rotj vader deluxe a few days, i was looking for two stormtrooper for a future display. Beside the traditionnal sideshow 1/6, is it something wich can match at a decent price?
Do you recognize the model and the scale of theses two?:

Thanks!
Those are absolutely Sideshow troopers. I'm one of those rare lucky people who managed to get a Marmit trooper back in 1998 I think; $99.00. To my eye, the Marmit is more screen-accurate by far, except for the gun holster. (I made my own custom replacement for it.) The Sideshow Troopers are slightly thick in the arms, and the utility belt and chest armor both cover too much of the mid-torso section. The Marmit's belt is one piece with the mid-section, so the mid-torso detail is always visible as it should be. Also, the helmet and forearm armor is more accurate on the Marmit.

Hi!

Thank you for your advices concerning the stormtrooper. I would like to apologise because i haven't seen that there was a topic concerning the stormtrooper...
:wink1:

Ok, I saw that he weighed 7 and change and it surprised me.
