Thank you. Now I see! I was like: "this figure isn't worthy the box! wth?!". Once you got the Detolf up you'll need some LED strips from IKEA as well and you're all set. This is a fantastic figure!
I'm thinking about buying another one as well. Mine arrived with no issues, from a European retailer.
You're absolutely right. I personally have 9 Detolf and they definitely make my 1/6 collection shine and I don't even have a LED or any lightning setup.
BTW, I'm on the verge of completing a deal for a ESB/ROTJ Vader so I'm pretty exited about it.

I'm gonna have to take that back. After reading the Vader QC issue thread I thoroughly inspected my figure and found two issues:
the only issue I had with mine was the led light belt , one side only worked I got a replacement free of charge though but I never have any QC issues with hot toys though. I gotta say though this is my favourite figure right now it juts got me back into star wars after about a year of being bored with the series
The scuff would bother me. The breather wouldn't. Mine are only a tiny space apart.meh

Late to the party, but just got mine. I have no past Vaders to compare to, but this absolutely blows me away. Now I'm off to pray for a Stormy reissue.
I will join you in prayer.
I also have a bad feeling that I'm about to pull the trigger on this Vader...it is useless to resist etc.

I just noticed that my Vader is missing the cape chain (I think I lost it when I was swapping the heads over) and I was wondering what would be the best solution to replace it?
I have searched eBay for a replacement part but so far no luck. I though the bay would have been full of spare parts.

If you want the saber ignited, start by putting the saber in his right hand, then pick one of the remaining left hands that you like for an expressive action. Maybe even both hands on the hilt. Otherwise go nuts with hand selection and put the hilt on his belt.
Vader just doesn't look right with a saber in his left hand, and it's one of the many reasons I really dislike Sideshow's own product photos of this guy.

If you have no other SW figures, then Vader will look very good stock with nothing done to him except posing and futzing the clothing/robe/cape. Just don't pay a penny more for the exclusive over the non-EX version. The severed hand just really isn't worth it.
