I have on at bbts I preorder when it went up. Plenty of time to decide. My financial and collection/space situation will determine whether I keep it upon release. I do like that the ES is pretty low for such a popular character.

Godzilla fans belong to a niche market. There aren't that many of us. There's even less willing to spend $800 on a statue.

Popularity elsewhere in the world may not matter, this could be really expensive for those folks, more so than us in the US who are looking at around $900 with shipping and all.

Also, this new Godzilla design is often stylized in his home country of Japan, look at the theatrical statue and SHMA figure, similar to the overall design but almost made to look more like a Toho Godzilla and less like the source, which, for it's issues, this statue is more true to the source. Godzilla may be popular, but if this film or design aren't, $800 will turn many away. If this was one of the more popular Toho designs, I'm sure it'd be easily popular elsewhere in the world.

That's where I am with this statue. I would love a high-end Godzilla statue, but I'm more interested in classic designs. I have no interest in this design at all, especially for its size and price.

You have a good chance since you got on early and the $800 price helps.

I think it's legit. As you said the 750 has got to satisfy all retailer and direct orders.
