I'm really amazed at how it turned out seeing it at comic con. They certainly made some improvements since the time of its first release. I would order one but that anatomically awkward gap under the right arm is still there and it really bugs me =(.

Not to mention the leg plates and the entire f^^^^ing face that are completely inaccurate.

The metal looks very nice, but the paint is a bit sloppy in the details of the statue, and the painted fabric is too glossy.

THANKS MIKE

YOUR WELCOME?

Much better than HT IMO.

100% AGREED! The Hot Toys Mark 1 is nice, but it's not in the same league as this Maquette. Not even close. Why would I want a 12" figure when I can opt for the 1:4 scale statue?

No contest.

Here is my review/look at the piece after a weeks worth of observation

Comparison of head sculpts between the exclusive with RDJ and regular. The RDJ may not be dead on, but it's close.

I probably won't display it with the helmet open much anyway, but I prefer the depth of having the eyes behind the helmet, rather than the flat paint on the regular.

I like this figure; no problem with the pose. To me, it shows the weight, bulk, awkwardness of the suit, which we know from the movie was difficult to move in.

Agreed. Honestly, this is one of my keepers, and the fact it is 1/4 scale fits in nicely with the PFs.

Outstanding!

I'm honestly not knocking the maquette and I certainly wouldn't mind adding it to my collection, but if you're saying the SS maquette is more detailed than the 1/6 scale HT then you're really just kidding yourself. https://sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42246&page=90 While I understand the whole "if it's more expensive, bigger, heavier and not made of plastic, then it must be better!" mentality, even a blind man can see that the HT figure is more detailed and accurate.

Blue Falcon, first of all, awesome photography. Some of the pics look like they may have been oversharpened, BUT this may only be from my monitors view.

Anyways, I can see what you mean to the more detail. When I get mine displayed, I will have to take a much closer look and compare your details to the SS piece. The HT is an impressive piece. For me, the decision was not whether HT or SS, it was the fact it fits with my other 1/4 scale formats. If my stuff was mostly 1/6, I would be all over the HT one in an instant.
