I can't say that I'm a fan of the way they shoot BP videos now. Distorts the actual size of the piece making it bigger then what it really is when sized up with a person.

I still say that when they shoot those the actual figure or whatever is NOT even there with the person talking about it. SS just superimposes it's image. hence why it always looks out of scale and place.

But you notice now that's not so..

I prefer it when they do actually interact with the piece. gives a better insight into it's scale and such.

:lecture:lecture:lecture

Exactly, when they mess with it, it shows true scale. Some people probably think that the piece is that big and can be bad marketing. I remember that pterasaur piece looked at least double the size of what it actually was.

I saw this at SDCC, it is big and impressive but not as big as that video makes it out to be. I think that guy next to him is just very short.

They have been making the presenter look smaller so the pieces look bigger either by sitting him back or blue screen. That's why he no longer interacts with the piece anymore. They just budgeted the special effects team from Gulliver's Travels to help them out.

The piece might not be there but it is damn close to the actual size,it's 24" tall after all!

I will admit i love the vibrancy of the paint on this and the level of detail (still cant believe they missed the glyphs on his head, and the flames on his forearms are all wrong) but i still dont understand the appeal in paying that much for something that doesnt even have any poseability, or a decent looking pose in the first place.

You can buy a huge HD TV, a PS3, and the new 360 and even a Wii (if youre into that sort of thing) and still have money left over for games for the money it costs to buy this statue that doesnt even do anything.

Or if you are not into games, you can buy the whole TF MP line up for less than this costs!

The price and what yo can buy with $1200 is nothing for a Real Transformers fan. It is the first oportunit for us to have a nice piece based on the movies.
It like explaining to a Ferrari fan that he should not be buying a Ferrari that costs $500.000 and he should just buy a house, a Mercedes, a Hummer and a Bike and still keep some money in the pocket. At the end he still hasn't the Ferrari and everytime he sees one he will think he had the opportunity to buy it but he did not.
It is just money and if you really want it and can afford it just buy the damn thing.
I am gonna have to work for 2 weeks to buy it and I do not care because it is gonna look freaking good in my living room!

:exactly: :goodpost:

Pulling the focus or the zoom or whatever the trick is done here does make the statue look bigger.
But I'm still not going to go "Ooh look how MASSIVE that awesome Colossus Comiquette is, man I could of sworn they sucked out and only made that statue 16 inches tall...but now I'm gonna buy it",

I guess....still dont see the appeal myself, and i consider myself a "real transformers fan".

There are hundreds, maybe thousands of Transformer figures that have full articulation.

What's the problem with ONE high dollar statue that doesn't have poseability?

I'm no Transformer collector, but i doubt there are other Transformer collectibles that are as sick as this piece.
