There are various takes on him. The older cartoon had him a blue-ish purple, and other takes have him darker purple. All depends on the artists rendition. In this case, it works really well and blends together with everything a lot more than a lighter tone would.

What? Skeletor's skin has always been a shade of blue. It should be blue on this piece too in my opinion.

Both statues turned out amazing. Especially Skeletor! To me, he's a must have and a day 1 purchase.

He looks more bad-*** than the grim reaper. Love the armor, dark skin and skull. My only teensy weensy critiques are the staff's orb. I think a clear piece would fit better. And I always preferred boots>sandals

As for the 1/5 scale, Sideshow never let me down with those pieces.

Not sure there's anything specifically about following that. The designer, Stjepan Sejic, had posted fan art WAY back when (breathtaking back then) and you can see a lot of the design ideas he had back then carrying through to these. It makes me think that future statues may follow along these lines, with refinements. Which I'd be fine with.

No, but he had one in the 87 movie. Ever since then, it's been a pretty popular idea for him with fans.

Ah, I see. I think it looks good, it just reminds me too much of Thor. Both blonde. Both medieval(ish) heroes. Both god-like. Both extremely muscular.

The lava effect on Skeletor's base looks really nice, though I have doubts that the factories can recreate it. It appears that the lava glows are a new obsession of sideshow's.

Skeletor has real presence. Looks like one of best statues at the show. Well done Sideshow.
