So what do you think about the likeness of the Sideshow Jack compared to CM?

I never liked CM Jack likeness. The whole piece is great but the likeness is way off in my opinion. Hot Toys Cannibal Jack is perfect. Whoever did that, deserves an oscar....

For the price, this is a good pf and still have time to retool.

As for CM, for the price, they didn't nail the likeness nor the "character".

I am not up on my Sparrow figures so what does the CM one look like? If its the one I think it is its not even close to Depp. This one is 100x better.

Huh....I don't really see Depp in the sculpt at least from that angle. I'm a bit disappointed but I'll keep watching.

I feel the same way. It looks like someone playing Depp playing Jack. I like everything else, but the face isn't right. I know it's not going to get any better so I'm disappointed as hell. Everyone knows how much I've been waiting for this.

I think the likeness is pretty damn good. Do I see some areas where they could have improved? Sure, but it's not a bad effort. I'm really looking forward to adding it to my collection.

I can't see how anyone can say it doesn't capture Depp's likeness whatsoever.

I guess I'm just too picky. It looks like an impersonator to me. He's too "thick" and the mouth isn't right at all.

Very true. Eyes, mouth & even shape of the head is off a little bit. Biggest problems is the mouth from my point of view. Lips should be bigger for about 50%.
But I think I will be taking that anyway. One of the most wanted PFs in 2010 for me.

Yes I do, and even more so than the character that the third film is named after. It's all just opinion though, maybe I just found him more identifiable.


As for the CM, I really think that there is only one member here who would suggest that the likeness is better than what appears so far on the PF ... but do we really have to turn this thread into that?

The likeness on the CM is far from a great likeness. Some if the initial proto pictures looked promising but production has not lived up to that promise. And while the SS is a good attempt it's just another sculpt that looks like it could be Depp but it's not 100%. Hot Toys has still produced the best portrait. By far.
