Anyone care to remember that the P1 leans a WEEEEE bit too forward? Like he's about to fall right off the tree.

Come on, it's a friggin' hand.

I hate to say it dude...but it's a friggin' hand that changes the whole look of the piece.

AND...it's not what I paid for.

Hey...someone from Sideshow!

Since this is your board...how about you come on here and explain this?

Or are you too busy rolling around in my ^^^^ing cash and laughing your asses off?

Why don't you email SS's customer service if you're so worried about it? Sideshow doesn't really own and operate this board. They probably won't see the thread and they definitely won't respond to it here.

Already done. Thanks.

I thought it was very telling that there have been many discussions on this board about the Leia PF having stains on the white dress over the years--yet SS claimed to have never heard about the issue before, ever, in todays "Ask Sideshow" post...

Of course it looks the same, that's how it was made. But people noticed, and got over the P1 looking pretty off balance.

Personally, I never cared about it, because it looks killer.

In my opinion, the P2 looks just as good in those photos posted earlier, whether the hand is vertical or horizontal.

Edit: looking back at the in hand pics, compared to the proto, it really does look like the arm, from the elbow down is/was probably a separate piece.

Just wish we'd get some more pics. :lol

I have looked at the other photos and I have to say I was a little harsh.
I looked forward to seeing the EX. The unmasked P2 head looks much better the P1 unmasked head

There's a difference between coming to terms with a piece's design and buying one look and getting another, and I think anyone who's upset about it has a legitimate beef, especially with no production photos posted to the site. Sure they're busy with Toy Fair and probably didn't have time, or in a worst case, they don't even know about this, but I've never seen a statue "reposed" like this, it's a first to me. It's not like a molding dent or slightly off paint from the proto, it's almost an entirely new statue depending on how you view it, the posing plays into your perception of the frozen moment it represents. Bottom line, in this dio's case, what you're receiving isn't just a lesser quality version of what you expected (proto-production paint apps), it's a fairly different looking sculpt.

I'm a bit let down, but not so much as I don't want it anymore, but I don't think the people bothered by it are in the wrong to be vocal.

It doesn't matter whether it's from the film or not, it's a depiction of the Predator in 3D form as if you took a snapshot of him in action, and the new position of the arm changes the appearance of what action is going on in the "still", and some people arn't happy with the new moment that's captured as a result of the alternate position. Maybe someone will be brave and try to separate the gauntlet from the upper arm and twist it to the proto position.

Maybe what is going on in this 'still' is that he's about to move his arm so that his hand is facing down. :lol

Honestly, I really, REALLY fail to see the gripe in what his hand is doing, it's not like they have him throwing a gang sign - it could have been changed for a number of reasons, or it was an error.

I'm not saying people can't voice anything, and I feel bad for the people who are upset about it... but it's just not a big deal to me, in fact, I think it's a pretty minor change. When they do a run of these and swap out the spear for a broom, then I'll be mad.

Truthfully, and joking aside, the prototype looked to me like he was balancing himself, the in hand pics we've seen - to me - look like he is about to close his hand into a fist, and slash downward with his blades.

Some shots --- :D

That's 100% how I see it, but add to that, the proto was his right arm balancing himself as he prepared to strike with the spear. To me, if you're going to have him holding the spear, the pose ought to reflect attacking with it, the new pose suggests a wrist blade assault so it's like, why does he need the spear.

*squeals like a little girl*

That unmasked head is so awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edit: Oh, back to the convo -I saw the proto as looking more like he was perched, just watching the action in the loft before he did anything, balancing as he squatted down to get a better look... perhaps when the Jamaican's had the guy hung upside down, before all hell broke loose. I thought it sorta suggested he might have extended the spear, not to attack right away, but to be ready to attack.

The new positioning looks like to me, that he is about to hop off his perch, start slashing someone, and still have the spear ready to impale someone else.
