I own the sideshow maquette exclusive and although I love it, I still voted for the CM version. I think those that put down the Cinemaquette are just jealous that they spent alot of money and for the time had the best representation of the predator but now have the second best representation. Anyways in my opinion either owners of the Sideshow piece or the Cinemaquette version still don't have the top piece. FelMar's and Stag's lifesize predator is the #1 piece.

*****WORD*****:D:naughty
Thanks Main!!!

:lol @ silent surfer. 73-14, I dont think you're convincing anyone.

That's just because I jumped in on this thread late, mindless robot, before more were infected.:monkey5

Obviously the 84% of us who prefer the CM don't know what we've talking about. :lol

Mindless robots are programmed to say that, mindless robot.:google

AAAAA! Wrong answer. The judges were looking for is, "those that put down the Cinemaquette are extremely happy not to have to pay twice as much and more for the second best representation of the Predator, already having the best one can get made by the company that made the actually Predator from the movie, then posed it just like the one in the lobby of their studio." But thanks for playing, semi-mindless robot.:joy

Interesting factoid about the one in their lobby. Anybody ever notice it is wearing the Predator 2 gauntlets? Even it isn't as accurate as the Sideshow piece. Ha ha!:moon

:lol Yeah I forgot about that comment. There's nothing like someone's insecurities getting the better of them.

This whole thread is an example of that, mindless robot slave.:r2d2line

Apparently this is me :horse But I have enjoyed looking down my nose at all of you who worship the false Idol of CM. This is SilentSurfer, last survivor of the SS believers, signing off. TTFN

@SilentSurfer :rock :rotfl

I'm not an expert on the subject and only have the SS Regular version but I haven't seen anyone dispute SilentSurfer's points. :huh :peace

meh..no need to....the CM owners know they have the better Predator. Only the one who has the inferior product needs to bark the loudest...:monkey3

I like both, but seeing them in person would probably make a huge difference in making my mind up. Pictures, no matter how good they are, can not show us how awesome an item is sometimes. I would say Cinemaquette Predator is better because of its size, pose, base and mandibles.

I like the look of the CM better - but it's a bit more of an artists interpretation.

I would actually rather have the SSC maquette simply because it would go much better with my small collection of movie character PF's.

I believe the one with perfect accuracy and proportion is SS.

I think your correct. Not sure about perfect but more accurate yes.
Even when I had the cm on order I said a few times I would rather have the sideshow maquette on the way since it was more accurate , easier to put somewhere ( since its smaller ) , and to be honest I think I prefer the pose.
Kind of reperesents the whole movie to me rather than just the end.

You can't really compare the 2 because of there pricepoints. The CM SHOULD be bigger and better for being 1K more than the SS maquette. Personally, I like the SS maquette as it came from SWS.

I don't think size matters as the final spec in saying a collectable should be more than an another. I have a 1/6 scale statue that started at $350, and is now worth $4500.

In this case with the Predators, it is a matter of which scale will fit in your collection. You may very well find that in a good economy, a person will pay as much for the SS Predator (the Exclusive one that is) as the CM one to have it "fit" there display choice.

And there are so many other reasons that effect price when it comes to collecting ...

I believe, that in the next 3 to 5 years, the CM will be marketing a $4500 to $5000 value, and the SS one will increase as a result and be within $1000 of the CM (again, the Exclusive one, the regular will be about $1500). In this case is has a theory to do with the numbers produced.

I think both are great, but I like the SS version a little more, not because I own one, but just because it's the right size. It will go along well with the T-800 PF.

I agree SS is a great sculpt.

Ditto.

I currently have the SS Exc Predator, and just got confirmation the CM Predator is being shipped to me (from the US to Canada).

One of the reasons I did not buy one earlier is because of the QC issues with this, and, I have to say, I am a bit nervous about getting this one.

I will post pics of both, once I receive them AND if the CM Pred makes it here in the right condition.

Great thread Tuggernaut.

Close, but no. SS's proportion is off(head is small compare to the body).Neither is the CM(Not a screen look head sculpt). CM owns the SS in the anaomy of the body. Still, both are not perfect.
