Re: Sideshow Announcing new Premium Art Prints collection

I just got my Scarlet Witch art print and wanted to know if it is O.K to put inside a UltraPro 24" x 36" top loader stiff clear sleeve?

Will this fit and will it also help flatten it out?

36" X 24" Toploader, Ultra PRO

This is my first sideshow Art Print and I want to display it until I get a proper frame for it. Also when I get a frame should I have it behind glass?

Re: Sideshow Announcing new Premium Art Prints collection

These SS prints are on a thick kind of canvas and inside 1 of those tight Toploaders could smear the surface of the picture. I would just keep it in the tube until you are ready to frame it. The framer if he's a professional will have the weights they put on it to flatten it for preparation for framing.

I'd leave it in the tube

Thanks for the comments.

When I do finally get it framed should I have it exposed or with glass as long as the glass is not touching the canvas.

The purpose of the mat is to keep the print from touching the glass. Your framer will ask you if you want a clear acrylic or a glass with UV protection.

If you do want to store it flat, I would flatten it outside of a sleeve like that first. What I do is take it out of the tube immediately when I get it and let it naturally open up for a bit. The printers usually send them flat then they are rolled, so the less they are kept rolled the better. Once I have left it naturally open up, I will weight it down myself, then either put it in a sleeve or in a storage system.

The issue with going from a rolled print to a sleeve right away is that is can be a pain in the *** to get in the sleeve without damaging the corners.

Who actually wants the Heavy Metal logo on a $100+ print? It's a nice cover, but I don't care for that decision at all.

Re: Sideshow Announcing new Premium Art Prints collection

Possibly a glitch, but there doesn't seem to be a difference in price between the unframed and framed versions, apart from the NRD. $200 for the latter is better than its been (although their not being able to get real signatures for their own license is ridiculous) but it's way too much for just the print.

Only framed is available now to those they emailed. Unframed and the rest of the framed ones go up Monday.
