Ok, here is where the engineer in me comes out. Try measuring the depth of the hole in her neck and the width of the opening on the replacement body to see if it is the same on the damaged body. Might need to file the opening some so the head post fits?

I'm not talented enough to do that and i wouldn't risk damaging the body but i'll take the measurements you suggested. I already sent a complaint to sideshow yesterday and have yet to hear from them.

I would measure then to see what's actually going on, like the circumference of the peg the depth of the peg hole into the body.

That should give you the uncertainty of why there's that gap.

That's really a shame though if it can't be futz/maneuvered...

edit: nvm he beat me to it (had the post ready and then had to walk off and do something).

use a dremel and trim the head connector shorter. Make sure you wear a 3m mask, the dust is harmful.

luckily no issues on mine.

He's talking about Psylockes cracked leg and now neck gap along with any other problems people may have experienced with her. Psylockes QC issues have been well documented. It's safe to say she is a disappointment.

shrug, i have this statue without any issues. It's one of the more beautiful pieces i have seen in person with the dual katana pose. Love it.

My only complaint is the strap paint on the leg is somewhat sloppy and bleeds a little onto the skin color, but overall it looks awesome. Especially love the reg head, it's one of the best sculpted/painted head to me, the way they did the hairline is very creative.

Is yours a replacement body or were you one of the lucky ones that never had any cracking on the legs?

not replacement, original. I ordered this late after everyone already received theirs. And then had to wait another 1-2 months before sideshow shipped to me (from a new batch from china i assume). Pretty sure they fixed the issue with the new batch, because there is no cracks at all, i have it for months now. Everything is perfect except a bit sloppy paint bleed on the leg straps as mentioned, but not really noticeable unless you look at it very close.

^So you can't look at your statue up close because of the noticeable sloppy painy job, but nevertheless, it is a perfect statue...did I get it right?

Well that's encouraging then. It sounds like the cracking paint issue has been addressed. I'll find out tonight if I have a neck gap on mine.

Aww, why do you have to go there?? :dunno

Because it is true.

I think it is amazing the ways we find to justify our purchases. It is NOT a perfect statue, no problems at all with that, nothing is, but let's not encourage SS to keep their crappy QC. It is pointless, useless and detrimental to our own interests as collectors.

This is my point. It's sad to hear any complaints. I don't want to buy a piece with known problems and customer complaints.

I got the ex when it first came out and the paint was perfect. I recently moved and put it away in its' box and I haven't looked at it for a couple months. I was unaware of these paint issues. I'm going to be pissed if I take this thing out of the box and the paint is cracking.

Even if it is, Sideshow will still take care of you. :lecture

Are you trolling or just completely clueless? Giving you benefit of the doubt:

While i loved perfection, EVERY single piece sideshow produced has paint bleeds and imperfect paints if you look at it closely.

There is nothing wrong with wanting a perfect statue, but you will not get it from sideshow or any of those chinese factory statues (pretty much all of the major brands except attakus), it's just nature of the business.

So either you accept small imperfections, pay $$$ for a custom paint on very bad finishes (like i did with arwen), or go collect lladro porcelain dolls - those do come perfect all the time.

I am very particular about paints on statues and have been critical of a lot of ss work. But i am happy with this piece and its quality, it is one of my favorite despite all the negativity.

Winner! Winner! Chicken Dinner!

Just got my replacement body and no neck gaps on either head or arm gaps. My replacement has worked out well and I am happy. One thing I did notice is that the material for her suit is a little more stretchy than the original because when I opened her up, her boob was hanging out!:horror:lol
Or maybe she just got hot inside that box. :naughty

I hope so too, my EX was perfect up until a week ago when i noticed the dreaded paint cracks on both legs. i immediately sent SS an e-mail and this was the response:" Thank you very much for the pictures you sent. We are currently investigating our replacement stock to see if we have an acceptable exchange for you. We appreciate your patience during this process. Please allow 2 to 3 business days for us to investigate your inquiry.
If you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to contact me and I will do my best to assist you.
Best Regards,

This was 7 days ago, so i'm hoping they do have a few extra replacements for those who are just now noticing paint cracks problems!
