After looking at a lot of these issues, i think its due to the flesh or primer that they used (if its primer).

Ever since art school i have come across paints that crack and those always were white paints due to them being more chalky then plastic/acrylic or really cheap primers. So it seems these are drying to the point of not having a elastic coating and just shrinking to the points of cracking.

One paint i see this common with is createx White (and some of their other opaques) where when it dries it cracks up.

Also for oil or acrylic painting on a canvas you need to gesso it. If you buy cheap no name gesso it tends to be very chalky and crack up. But if you get the better gesso primer its more acrylic and has a stretch to it and doesnt dry out.

So im just thinking they over used white or went the cheap route of paints.

For such a large operation, doesnt sideshow have some sort of standards like the type of paint/primer etc..that must be used to make their products in the chinese factory.

Those guys are rolling in money and cant be bothered to do the basic needed to ensure quality.

Im sure they do, but the factory could have just went the cheap route and used crap trying to get one by SS. Like any business out there cutting corners sometimes works out but most of the time doesnt in the long run.

But then again the factory could have just used the same paints they always do but got a bad batch. No way to know for sure but as a business SS needs to step up and correct the issue.

Nope and never herd anything since i got ahold of them months ago.

with skiman & your skills, you guys should just repaint them yourself, i bet it will come out infinitely better than whatever replacement heads ss will send.

wish i can paint like you guys, then i will repaint every piece i get from sideshow. :yess:

I think this may turn into another IM bust or Sabretooth bust, meaning later down the road these may all end up flaking:gah:

Only some. I think it's done in different batches. I'm hoping mine was a good batch.

Is this still a future grail? :pigfly:

Grail. Grail. Grail. People use that word so much around here that I just got to chuckle. IMO, I doubt anything Sideshow produces these days will ever reach the status of a Grey Hulk PF EX, X-Men 1 Dio EX or Dr Doom PF EX. You should be collecting because you like something, not how much it is going to be worth. Besides, Sideshow will replace the Psylocke bodies that have paint cracks so it's not like this piece is going to be that rare to find in excellent condition.
