Ansel Adams didn't need much because he had the skills...

I'm so confused. Is this 1/4 scale? Seems like Sideshow will be making future 1/4 statues all Premium Formats... does this mean we could still see a PF Rhino? Didn't order this guy since I don't even have a Spidey!

Wish they would just make it easier to follow like the entire new DC line. Any chance of them making a Marvel comic line? All the new Marvel stuff seems to be the Avengers movie based for the most part.

I'm trying to sift through Sideshow's website, but anyone know which 1/4 Marvel statues have already been made? I'm trying to decide if I should expand from the new DC line now or if I'm too late.

depends how many preciously released characters youd be interested in. but for the most part your late to the party and playing catch up will cost you a small fortune.

Ink answered, but:

Before Rhino (B.R.):
- Comiquette: Fully Sculpted, any scale, most often 1/5, sometimes 1/4
- PF: Mixed Media, always 1/4

After Rhino (A.R.)
- Comiquette: Fully Sculpted, smaller than 1/4, most often 1/5
- PF: Mixed Media or Fully Sculpted, always 1/4 scale

For characters made B.R., most of the 1/4 Comiquettes were characters that HAD to be Comiquettes because they couldn't be done with cloth, or have so little cloth it wouldn't be worth it as a PF: Silver Surfer, Carnage, Venom, Classic Namor & Iron Man...although not PFs, they're 1/4 so consider that their entry. If the same statues followed the rules A.R. they'd be PFs.

All DC is considered A.R. That should answer that.

If you like this Rhino and want it, don't let a lack of Spidey stop you. I originally skipped this because I didn't have Spidey either. Then I jumped on the WL for the Ex anyway. Good thing, cuz I got a Spidey Com Ex, and then my Rhino converted. If you don't want to buy a current 1/4 Spidey, SS will probably do a new one sooner or later. He's too popular to never do again.

Most of the major character have had a 1/4 Com or PF.

Quadcent gave the best answer...look up the characters or sculpts you like and how much they'd cost you. Check eBay, the forums, specialty shops, etc. Like Quad said though, it will be more expensive than DC. The most I ever paid was this year for my Spidey Com. I had to have my favorite character, so it was worth it to me. See what's worth it to you. I collect Marvel and DC, but I don't have to have everybody...Focus on the characters you like.

Everyone's been made except Daredevil !! :impatient:

LOL I'd love a DD. But there's still a lot of characters left...Nightcrawler (c'mon already!!!), Phoenix, Beast, Mr. Sinister, Hobgoblin, Doctor Octopus, Loki, Thanos, Blade, Ghost Rider...

Thank you very very much for that detailed write up!!

Definitely going to have to do some more thinking. I'm honestly hoping that SS will just release new versions as true PFs with mixed media... but a part of me doubts that will happen anytime soon. Seems like Sideshow would rather concentrate their current resources to ensure the DC line continues to roll out smoothly. (Not that I'm complaining!)

Does anyone know if the same production staff creates each PF? Or do they assign teams based on licenses? Because the DC PF line seems to all be homeruns! Do they have another team for Marvel?

also if you want to find the list of all previously released Marvel pieces, you have to log into the SSC site and manage your account i believe, down on the Right hand lower side there's an Archive Search tab, that should allow you to look at all the earlier releases.
