Re: Sideshow Spider-Man Comiquette

Yeah I saw it too last night but had to sleep on it before splashing out all that money. :p But there's nothing to think about with such an awesome figure. And there's not too many sellers who's willing to ship it internationally. Hope you get yours soon Spidey, really feeling your desire all over the forum nowadays. ;)

I know I am ooozzzziing it lately... Kind of gross actually... Have a new Sig ready and everything. It is just a matter of the RIGHT PLACE AND RIGHT TIME. I am still waiting on one feller in particular....lol.

Re: Sideshow Spider-Man Comiquette

Gotta say this is still one incredibly amazing piece and I should've jumped on it when it was still around the $6-700 mark. Now I just can't bring myself to spew that kinda money on one piece unless if it was something life sized.

Guess I'll wait for the new one to come out. It looks promising. :D
Congrats on the purchase Hew. It's am amazing grail.

Re: Sideshow Spider-Man Comiquette

I just can't get myself to drop the cash for this. With the amount I'd need... I could probably get Galactus AND the 1/5 Spiderman Comiquette. If the new one was 1/4, it'd make my decision so much easier.

Picked up the 1/4 Rhino and it's awesome! But I realized this could be the start of a huge rabbit hole since Venom and Green Goblin have already been released in the PF line! What do I do?! :(

I love this thing too and thats where I am at. I really had to do some sleeping on this to make a decision to pass on this. I really like this new one coming equally sculpt and paint wise. Scale is my only beef, but if the final product looks close to the proto then I'll be happy. So far this IS the 1/4th sculpt to have though.

I thought the same thing initially and then I said to myself **** it! Ill take em all. Never going to be another 1/4 scale Spidey like this one again. I you can find one at a reasonable price I say jump on it. I can't imagine having this in hand and being upset about it. Just my thoughts. Ill let you know if I still feel the same way on Tuesday when he shows up at my doorstep

I could never bring myself to pay the inflated prices for past pieces. I'll stick to new releases. It worked out with Cap as theres a new one coming and looks awesome. Same for Spidey another one will come eventually. Congrats though Tavegg this one looks awesome for sure.

Thanks AB. I remember thinking the same thing when I first started collecting. 400 for a statue! And here I am today... Hope you can hold strong buddy because man is it easy to get sucked in...

Re: Sideshow Spider-Man Comiquette

I'm generally thinking the same and this is the first piece ever that I have paid huge money for compared to retail prices (although "only" double the price for my part). And hopefully it will the last (although I want Venom as well :D ). But personally I rate this statue the best I have ever seen so in the end I just couldn't bring myself to pass on this. I sort of hope however that I'll be able to forget Venom.. We'll see.

Re: Sideshow Spider-Man Comiquette

I tried not to go back at 1st looking for old Grails but I eventually ended up getting this, Cap America & the Thor PF which cost me a lot of money. I don't regret it at all as I love them pieces & was totally worth every penny to me but at that time I had the spare money to comfortably buy thing's like this & I could still treat my family but right now I'm not in that position. So for now I'm just getting new Statues. If work picks up though I'm definitely going to go back hunting down old releases, it's part of the fun of the hobby to me.

I was all about waiting, but after I decided to take a good look at this bad boy.... Well I decided to track him down. Honestly, the Spiderman Com will be the ONLY past Grail I will track down. As much as Thor, Cap, and Hulk look awesome I don't give a rats *** about owning ANY of them. The Spiderman Com though .... That is just a different story given that he has been my favorite character since I was 3 and the first one I EVER drew. I wish I could like the NEW Com the way many others do, but I simply can't get by parts of the sculpt, and I KNOW the difference in scale would annoy me. I can't have my fav character being the SMALLEST statue in my collection.

As for waiting for a new one... Well this is a Martin Canale Gore Group sculpt, and despite what I use to say ... There isn't going to be a BETTER representation of this one... Maybe one that matches it... But not better.

You are lucky my man... Post pics when you get this me m8

I'm done hunting down oldies now.

I picked up Venom, BiB Spidey, Wolverine EX, Joker EX, Doom, and Thor EX (now customized, as you know). That'll be it for me. I was able to sell off some other stuff to justify most of those purchases (and still sock a bit away for a future purchase of my holy of all holiest grails...Amazing Fantasy 15).

Well this will be my one and only search for an older piece... Well ... if in the end a Spiderman BIB falls into my lap in 3 or 4 years I won't complain...lol

I remember missing out on the Cap PF Exclusive when it was originally sold. I ended up getting it from a fellow boardie for $550.00 and I was mad at myself. Now that I look back, it really was a wise purchase on my part. Also, it's marked "Marvel/" on the base and the box :horror
