Re: Sideshow Spider-Man Comiquette

I remember missing out on the Cap PF Exclusive when it was originally sold. I ended up getting it from a fellow boardie for $550.00 and I was mad at myself. Now that I look back, it really was a wise purchase on my part. Also, it's marked "Marvel/" on the base and the box :horror

What does that mean. Is it a SS sample piece?

I payed over a $1000 for my Cap A but I couldn't find one for ages over here in Europe so I had to make an offer to some one who I knew had it & didn't want to sell. Definitely worth it to me

Yeah, it's a Marvel sample. I have an EX Venom Com and it's a Marvel sample as well.

Re: Sideshow Spider-Man Comiquette

Yup, and that's cool you have a Venom Marvel Sample.

I actually picked it up from another member of this forum. He gave me a pretty fair price on an EX sample so I was able to add that BEAST to my collection. I was all smiles when he showed up. I'm sure you felt the same way with your Cap PF.

Re: Sideshow Spider-Man Comiquette

Just got my Spidey today! I am so impressed with this piece in hand all I can do is stare... The detail and pose are simply top shelf and one of the best statues SS has ever put out IMO! Congratulations to those that own this beast of a statue and good luck to those still on their journey to obtain him! Pics for your enjoyment!

Re: Sideshow Spider-Man Comiquette

Is it the Ex or Reg version?

EX though this would have been the series that all reg would have been no different to me. I don't display the artwork hence having to pay the extra money for the EX wouldn't have been worth it to me. By sheer chance the members I bought them from only had the EX versions for sale and I will admit I did pick these up at great prices. I purchased Venom and Spidey from the same boardie so he was very cool and cut me a great deal for the two of them. Just got super lucky on these pieces

Re: Sideshow Spider-Man Comiquette

That's one thing I've done is displayed the artwork that came with most of the EX's that came with artwork. Considering I have a comic themed collection room. It only made sense to get them custom framed and hung. They just add another flavor to my collection room.

Wasn't the king of darkness...

Congrats TAVEGG :clap
Still think about the day I cancelled this. And the AVP Dio :slap

Thanks Collector! That would be a tough pill to swallow.. I fell for you bud. My excuse is I'm newer to the hobby so when PO went up on this guy I didn't even know this wonderful world existed!

I have seen some Gorgeous setups (including yours) and I am just so skittish when it comes to displaying the SS art... I have a drawer full of SS art prints. I'm a ex comic book junkie. I collected various titles from marvel, DC, image, and valiant from the age of 9 till about 15 of which I still have all of them. They are boxed up with covers in storage. Seems that I should probably just get over it and add a little bit of variety to the room though. It does add a unique touch to the overall display

Re: Sideshow Spider-Man Comiquette

On and here's the kicker and why framing the artwork should be a no brainer for me... My moms owns a framing business. I get the material at wholesale and the labor is free so in comparison to what it would cost most to get that type of work done I pay pennies on the dollar... I know I'm opening myself up for a smack here but maybe I need to remind myself of how lucky I am to have that resource available

The hard part is done. You have the Com and the print. Everything after is easy. Congrats on your acquisition. The Spidey Com is one of SSC's finest statues.

Yeah I kinda did the same thing with mine, almost all my statues come with a comic to compliment it.

OMG!!!:horror

Yeah you already are winning by having a framer on your team. All you have to do is pay for material and partial labor. You're have that end covered on the collection agenda. You should have some eye candy hanging from your walls my friend.

Re: Sideshow Spider-Man Comiquette

Congrats Tavegg. I was hunting this one down for awhile & I was blown away by it when I finally got it. You can't understand how good this piece is until you actually see it in person.

I know man.... i was slightly embarrassed to admit it in the thread but i believe it is time to pull out the old collection to add some comics and in addition hire mama t for some much needed custom framework!

Thanks RB! I knew you would dig the new spidey! You are absolutely correct about having him in hand. Its positively one of the most remarkable sculpts in exiatence and until you have him in hand its hard to understand
