Here's what I was talking about when I said that the box had been opened before that pic:

So if you didn't open it before you took that shot, your seller did.

I will take another pic..that one is decieving since my Nikon camera box flap is right under that corner..it does not look like it was stressed from opening it..more like a ding in the box.

Who knows though..i never open my crap from the bottom..usually always the top..he could had switched it maybe..who knows, when crap like this happends..i love it when i buy it from Toys 2..he is a 20min drive away and always got me replacement parts in a couple days or week at max.

*edit* Only good news of the day, was picking up a C6 Chevy Corvette in red limited to 6000 by AutoArt with two clear cases for $60.

Actually, one thing i noticed when i checked to see if the piece was in the box..the chest armor was flat..like not protruding in the slightest at all..maybe i got a return that had already been boiled lol.

That doesn't look good, you should get it exchanged!! Contact the seller again and again until he changes the figure or the damaged/missing part with a new one.

Yea seriously..i knew i was getting jacked on this figure..actually come to think of it..my ESB Luke came with a missing scope on the back of the blaster, but..luckily i just swapped it out with my ESB Koto vinyl statue..and that blaster actually looks better anyway and is 1/6th scale.

Oh it was from a comic shop in the US..heard they had a good rep so, went with them..maybe its not their fault though right?..i mean frig..can't SS just let me send a pic with my name on paper in the pic or something then thy can just send me the piece..simple right?..i don't want to pay shipping..its not my fault this thing came like that..maybe not the sellers also..it starts when the manufacture, thats where all problems like this should be resolved unless its suspect from tappering...but, even then..if it was..someone obviously got a defective figure.

I am not going to send the whole figure back though, it has good paint application..i can't stand the burrs on the armor though but, once future goes on then i am sure it will help the look more, the body is more loose then a french whore house :p, it will take a day to get the right balance to stand him with no stand at all.

Actually, it makes sense why Sideshow wouldn't. It's all about "chain of custody." Sure it'd be an easy fix to your problem, but honestly, nothing with the retailer gets addressed and it might well be more serious than just your item. Additionally, your beef shouldn't be with Sideshow, it should be with the douchy retailer whom you purchased your Stormy from in the first place. This is why I don't mind paying the extra little bit to purchase from Sideshow directly as while it might cut out the middle man, it negates headaches like these. If you'd purchased from them directly, likely your claim would already be processed by now and your replacement ready to hit the mail tomorrow or first thing Monday.

Sideshow would still charge for shipping, which i think is lame..it came from their factory like that then, they should make the customer be satisfied enough to not have to spend another dime to fix something they bought..i am pretty sure the seller did not even look at any of the figures..he just got them and parted them out and sent them..it was taped in the original bag and all..i just think china is not doing a good enough QC on these just like on many other SSC products as of late..i will get a replacement no matter what anyway..one way or the other...but, yes i think its up to the seller to check his products when he gets them in..i mean visually..not open them but, just a once over..be familiar with what you sell..even in detail..so, you can just send that crap back to SSC and avoid selling it to me..sometimes sellers put it out not even knowing its defective...i can hardly say its their fault as much as it is SSC and their QC over there in China.

actualy, Valfar, IF you buy Direct from sideshow, they DON'T Charge for shipping on replacement parts like this. I've had a few figures with missing/ broken parts, and they've sent me a replacement each time FREE of charge. Even in the case where I had to ship an item back, it was all free, no shipping charge to me. It's one of their incentives to encourage people to buy direct.

My list of broken/damages stuff

Medicom Peter Parker ( busted shoulder joint, full figure replacement)
LOTR Samwise ( Busted shoulder joint, full figure replacement)
Bespin Luke Holster
MISSING RE4 LEON PISTOL AND HOLSTER
Busted Celebration Luke Blaster
Loo0se shoulder swivel on Bespin Luke ( full figure replacement)

I also inquired about getting my indy swapped, but His paint was so prefect, i decided to keep him and use super glue to fix the floppy joints.

Trust me Valfar, Go Direct with sideshow, it's much more worth it.

^^^what he said^^^ :)

Sorry about the issues with your Trooper, Valfar.

Here's a quote from Sideshow's help desk on their website...

Return/exchange Sideshow items purchased from a retail store or website.

If you purchased our product directly from a Retailer and wish to return it for a replacement or refund, you must contact them and complete this process with the original seller. We cannot issue direct refunds or replacements for our products sold by other retailers.

Sideshow Collectibles will not replace damaged product to third parties (even if factory sealed) and will only deal with the original purchaser as per our 30 Day Return Policy. This policy is similar to any other manufacturer who sells to a retail vendor who in turn is fulfilling to the public. The damaged item is returned to the original place of purchase for replacement or refund, regardless if it is a physical store or a online store.

If your Retailer is a direct wholesale client of ours, Sideshow Collectibles will follow our Wholesale Return/Exchange policy with the store. If the item is covered by this policy, then an account representative will work with them to resolve your situation.

Due to the limited edition nature of our product, we cannot guarantee that the item(s) can be replaced at the time of return or that damaged specific edition numbers can be replaced with the same number. In this case, a substitution or refund will be offered to the vendor and in turn to you.

Welll...that makes perfect sense to me. And gives wieght to the old adage, "You get what you pay for"

Is it cheaper to pick these figures up somewhere else? Yes, it can be. But if you want good, reliable service from the maker of the product, pay a little more and buy it from the maker. Otherwise, it's "Buyer Beware".

I've had nothing but positive experiences dealing with Sideshow's customer service on the few occasions where I've had to.

Ahh ok, i really did not know this..the lady never mentioned this when i called SSC earlier today, good to know but..thanks to User:LOPIE on here for sending me a link at Toy Anxiety for a new set of shin armor for a very good price..too bad their site does not have much selection right now...i probally would had bought something else as well..prices seem decent.

Sideshow customer service when ordering directly from them is second to none. Anytime I've had an issue, they've bent over backwards to help and never charged me a cent.

You don't know that for a fact. If you'd ordered directly from them, then yes, I'd agree. But the fact that you picked yours up from a retailer, and and adding to the equation that the tear damage to the flap of the box I already pointed out was not done by you, it has me thinking the box was opened some time after it left Sideshow's warehouse in SoCal. I still don't see why you don't aim your frustrations where they're due, at the retailer.

If I buy a car from someone, and there's an issue, why would I blame the car company when there's potential the damage was caused by the previous owner? :huh That doesn't make sense. It also doesn't make sense for Sideshow to eat the cost of something that's potentially not even their fault. Since you used a retailer in the U.S., I'm guessing you payed through PayPal. Why not make a claim through them for "Item damaged or not as described." Worst case scenario, you'll get a refund and can buy from a more reputable dealer.
