Actually, one thing i noticed when i checked to see if the piece was in the box..the chest armor was flat..like not protruding in the slightest at all..maybe i got a return that had already been boiled lol.

Yeah. I have 5 now and all 5 came with the flat chest. Taking that into account with the many other freaks who also got them with similar chest armor, I'd say that pretty much confirms yours was opened.

Still does not rule out a thing..it was packed tight in the tray so, that could had been it, it never had any signs of it being played with at all..the detenator was still wrapped and the gun was not even removed at all..if you take the gun out, i think you will have to bend up the tray a bit where it sits..it was not touched at all..i just really think that it was like this from the factory..my luke ESB came the same way, and i got that one from Toys2 with no scope on lukes blaster..i know Eric never opened it at all.

i bought this from a retailer, not SSC..the boxes are not always going to be mint..this thing took two trips in the past month..could have happend during shipping..all he put in the box was newspaper..still could had got dinged..besides that..when companies ship boxes they get dinged up sometimes, or it was on display at the guys store and got dropped, like i said..i have got a item from SSC before with a missing something(part,acessory), and read about it happending to others in the past on Rebelscum.

I just find it weird that your particular trooper is the only one with reported problems like that. Usually if there is a QC problem (missing guns, stands, scratches, bleeding paint jobs) we hear about it from a few different sources who received similar screwed up orders.

I haven't heard of anyone else having a missing knee teeth.

Well, i think its just stupid that SSC designed it that way, its not supposed to be a separate piece, its all one mold..so, having it as a separate piece just adds to the chances of it not being put on there during manufacturing as the same happend with my blaster with Luke, or maybe the teeth were put in but never glued in and when the figure got to the tray it had already fell out before getting boxed.

OORRRR!!, maybe the guy who owns the shop that i bought this from posts on here and decided to be a huge prick and take it off and send it too me so he can sit back and have a laugh at me bashing this figure more hahahaa!.

Actually, molding it in two separate pieces is fairly smart. This way they can reuse existing pieces that are near perfect and add and subtract for accuracy's sake when giving us new troopers like Sandtroopers, Spacetroopers, etc. It keeps both the overall cost down and allows us to get our troops faster.

That does make sense, the sandtroopers had more like a full diamond like knee cap on that area of the shin armor, so maybe they fill the gap in but, even then..the knee diamondish looking piece should be glued on there...i would think they would have to remold the top a bit more to get the look...but, its been done now anyway, i would think..Sandtrooper is coming soon.

Yea, totally..this happends sometimes..i mean hell, my Cleaner Wolf Predator was missing his front clasp looking thingy when i bought him and i just got a whole new skirt in exchange the next day i brought it back..when your buying so many figures all the time, your bound to get something that might be missing a piece or something..i have to admit my luck has been pretty good though so far, with all that i have bought in the last 4 years or more..i think i am going to add the future to this guy today in a hr or so, it really improves the figure i think, i am leaving the eyes as is, not going to paint the corners, they look fine, not too much paint spill at all and i think when the eyes are fixed, for some reason its detracting the look even more for some weird reason.

You're positive? He's the 3rd person to own it. From what he said, it went from a retailer, to his friend and then finally to him. He also said he knew he'd be getting a broken piece. Oh, and let's not forget that somewhere along the way, the box was opened carelessly, hence the tear in the flap on the corner. We already know that Sideshow calls this "minor box damage" and actually holds pieces like this until items have sold out and offer them as Express Updates. At any rate, I'm done with this. Hey, let's blame Sideshow for every douchy product we order 2nd/3rd hand. Hey, why not blame them for busted crap we purchase off of ebaY too?

Of course, being devil's advocate, what's to say he didn't pull the piece out himself since he's been trashtalking Sideshow making that very piece modular? But I'll give Valfar the benefit of the doubt about it.

It'll be interesting to see what people say about the Sandtroopers once Sideshow's come out, since if memory serves, all Marmit and Medicom did was toss on some accessories and weathering. Their Sandtrooper armor's identical to their Stormtroopers.

Ok, your right about the Medicom Sandtrooper, i think that figure looks like piss, its not even close to how they looked on screen with that ROTJ style bucket..I bought Sideshow figures from trusted sellers before and like i said pieces were missing on accessories..read about it all the time on Rebelscum forums as well, there is always items being sent back to SSC..its getting a bit out of line IMO, and no i would not intentionally take that piece off..i ordered new shin armor from Toy Anxiety so, why would i go through the trouble to do all that to manipulate someone because i was simply pointing out innacuracies about the SSC trooper?..no sir lol..I do like the SSC Stormie..other wise i would just not had bought it at all, i love the blaster it came with as well, its perfect i think..SSC accessories are always pretty spot on, its the bucket sculpt,loose body, armour has spruce burrs on them or whatever on some pieces, just think their R and D and QC could had been a tad better for this one but, hell maybe i will buy another one if i see it at Toys 2 ..after close inspection of course.

Right on, yes..i did see the pic from sideshow comparing the differences in the ab armor and left knee plates..the medicom did it right, same with Marmit i believe..with MArmit Sandtrooper being the most accurate looking hands down(even after SSC comes out) its the helmet that off with the Medicom..Marmit Stormtrooper is with the Hero helmet(one Luke and Han have on in close up scenes) and the Marmit Sandtrooper bucket is the Stunt with raised brow on that figure, they did their figures properly.

Not really. The armor on Medicom Sandtrooper is different from the Stormtrooper - check the link above to see what the differences should be. Not just a simple re-use of the Stormie armor. Look again on your figures and then you'll notice the differences between Medicom Stormtrooper and Sandtrooper
