Is something weird going on here? The exclusive is down to 1 and the regular is up from 6 to 7 per person?

Well, based on the information, I'd say some time ago, SSC determined the Edition Size for the Ex. Stormtroopers and put them into production. They projected some sales and figured they'd be safe to let people order 2 per person of the Ex. In doing this, the ammount of figures ordered at Comic Con exceeded expectation. They're stuck only being able to offer however many they set for production, so when they did the math, they found that the remaining Ex. Troopers was too low for people that didn't go to Comic Con to have a fair shot at the Ex. Trooper if people could still buy 2, so because of this, they're honoring the 2 ordered by folks at the con because the slip up is on them and they're not going to punish folks who believe they got something for their mistake, and they've changed the rules for folks ordering via tomorrow's PPO to be 1 per customer so there are more available to make it fairer for non attendees of the con to get an Ex. Stormtrooper.

Seems kind of unlikely that they couldn't produce more of those little blasters if they wanted to though. Also, did they not limit the number of people who could order at SDCC?

Makes sense. So Sideshow is just losing the blaster for the other exclusives and making them inclusives?

That's bs. It should either be 1 for everybody or 2 for everybody. If they had made people wait for the PPO like they should've this wouldn't have happened.

I had no idea we could order two of these at the con. I just ordered the one. Any ideas if I ordered a second tomorrow that they would still honor it? Probably a Dusty question.

So the peps at the Con got to order 2 and the PPO people can only order one?

Another reason why exclusives shouldn't be able to be ordered at the con.

My guess would be no. They're honoring the 2 Ex. orders from the con because at the time of the Con, they were pushing 2 and led people to think that was ok, so they're not going back on that. However, since there's time before tomorrow's PPO, they've announced the change for new orders. If you placed one tomorrow, you might get pass or might not, but at this stage, any orders would be considered informed consumers and probably held to the rule of 1.

Eh, this way you'll just have to buy a 2nd Ex for $20 less than retail 6 months after the figures hit the streets.

Not a reason to stop Ex. ordering, but definitely a lesson to learn about planning edition sizes and everything. The stormies are going to set a precedent in SSC order to shipping time because they're already heavily into production, we've never had a production sample as our first glimpse at figure, but with these we are. They got locked into something, underestimated how the ordering at the con went down and came up with the best solution they could to satisfy as many non-attendees as possible. Next year, they'll either limit people 1 per, or they'll plan the ES and production run better to handle whatever demand comes.

More people need to join us at SDCC is all.

Ideal, but not always an answer. Plus for a lot of folks, myself included, budgeting in that trip means not buying some products. What's more important, seeing people at the show, or having them at home spending more on the products. If you spend $1200 to go to Comic Con, that's hotel and passes and stuff, not money in SSC's pocket, if you don't go and spend that on SSC products, that's all theirs.

I'd really like to go... kinda like Graceland; sure its full of greasy deranged people, but still a right of passage :lol

I'm planning to go next year, but I already know that means quite a few items I'll be saying no to, it's a trade off.

I think that preorders that go up at random times during the convention absolutely should be available for attendee preorder, so they don't miss an order while at a panel or browsing booths.

In this case, the PPO was scheduled for the Friday after SDCC, when attendees were all home safe and sound and capable of being in front of a computer. I would not have a problem with Sideshow prohibiting attendee preorders for items that don't go up for preorder until a few days after SDCC, if that's how they proceed in the future. But attendees deserve a crack at anything that goes up for sale during the show.
