Ok, I thought i read it somewhere if I'm wrong so sawry lol..... 3rd quarter is what i thought this was coming but I can't wait no worries...

I thought they were due the same time as Vader...

Meaning I thought Sideshow brought the date foward...

Yea the Vader is supposedly in 2nd Qtr 2009, but of course that's due to change, when things happen random like dis...

Well, I believe the SDCC booth card had Q4 2008 on them, and given the stuff yet to be released that was POed long ago, I figured they'd be Sep-Nov time frame with the Stormtroopers being end of the year, very early 2009 at the latest.

The figures at Comic Con were production samples so these are well under way for production, should be the fastest PO to in hand turnaround from SSC.

Its on the Hot Toys/SSC combined effort'd Armored Prometheus isn't it? I would say that is where that blip comes from.

Armor and short body was made in partnership with HT, but the Prometheus was not. So anyone on the armored (and I assume the modified for Vader) or short body will come with a HT brand as well.

I'd imagine so. That HT logo should really stand out on the black/charcoal Star Wars box compared to the LOTR box.

The Stormtroopers were always slated for Q4 which means October - December. People were hoping for October but in reality December was always the realistic date and I have a feeling it'll be one of those December into January deals depending on where you live. As for Vader its slated for Q2 but I see that one being seriously delayed....

Yeah, they where Q4 to start now we just know what month they're coming in. Which is just fine with me.

Q4 is good... but I'm really excited to see the Stormtrooper in person. But I guess we'll have the General Kenobi to tide us over until then.

Ya, I'm pretty excited too, though with so much else in my pipeline before the Stormies, they're a bit of an after thought, but my only 12" Stormtrooper is the VOTC Hasbro. I feel Stormies ought to be in at least pairs, one lone trooper doesn't work right to me, so I always held back on Medicom because it'd be like $300 almost for 2. Now I have a cost effective option to get 2 high end Stormtroopers, so I look forward to having them in the collection. Not my all time favorite design or anything, but as much a Star Wars OT staple as Luke, so the collection will feel more complete with them represented.

Sounds like the lure of Obi-Wan revolved around finally getting a trooper and armor from SSC and it doesn't have to be Obi-Wan anymore to get one fairly soon.

I am still as "all about" Obi-Clone as I am the Stormtroopers. It is really an exciting time to be collecting 1:6 scale Star Wars figures.

Not at all, but this figure is certainly passable unless you enjoy all things Obi-Wan, film related or not, or love Clone Wars series.

was wondering if anyone who attended sdcc that saw the stormtrooper up close could give an opinion to how well this compares to the marmit st. (im sure it may be buried in this thread somewhere but ......) i own several marmit st's and can only judge from pics and i must say they look rather identical......or damn close anyway.
