100% increase? No way. Besides Jedi Luke, most of the exclusive figures can be had for around their original price.

You are doing well if you can get back what you paid for an exclusive SW figure. Double your money? Not likely...

This is the wrong line for flippers.

I perfectly agree. And actually, that is all I ask: I just want the figures that I buy to maintain their monetary value. That's all. But it's kind of hard when a lot of your SSC invoices look like this:

12-inch Subject 1025 Babysitte
------------
Sub Total: $49.99
Discount: - $0.00
Freight: $47.82
VAT/Sales Tax: $17.12
------------
Invoice Total: $114.93

I have to say though, that the SSC EU CS does their best to combine orders to save shipping costs when you contact them and ask for it.

Dang why does ur shipping cost so much... OFF-WORLD COLONY

Why do some people have the audacity to presume that they have the right for any item bought to retain it's value. If you buy it...it depreciates. The math is simple. If you expect a Van Gogh or Da Vinci or a Dali out of an action figure, even an incredible one like Sideshow's, you are playing a lottery that you are about as likely to win as anyone who wins a multi-state powerball lottery. And even to assume that you will enjoy the use of the item until you are ready to sell it and then want to make all of your money back from it is as ridiculous as buying a car, putting 30,000 miles on it and expecting the price you paid for off the lot with it.

If you want your Sideshow collectible to retain it's purchase price (value is not the correct word in these cases as value is VERY subjective), wait untill they bottom out on eBay, and then buy them.

You will have a lot more success at getting your money back, then.

I am still as "all about" Obi-Clone as I am the Stormtroopers. It is really an exciting time to be collecting 1:6 scale Star Wars figures.

Really? I find its getting rather blah but I think thats mostly due to the huge price difference between today and 2 years ago.

If Aayla and Ki-Adi were still $50-$60 I'd be really excited, but even Vader and Stormtroopers can't get me out of the funk of $70-$90 standard for figures these days.

Well said bro, like my wife always says we have a fortune but I won't sell until I die, then she will sell LOL!

I'm with DC. I'm as stoked about these things as I was two years ago. The prices are what they are and having been buying SSW statues or PFs these aren't that bad. I understand its may be more than some want to spend but its that way with anything in life. Get the ones you want for the right price if ya can. Enjoy the trip.

I fully agree. Look at what we're getting for the price. Look at what Hot Toys and Medicom are charging for their action figures. Back in the day, I scored aTESB Vader from Medicom (although theoretically with the full reveal, it should be considered a ROTJ) for a measly $150 + shipping. I was lucky. Considering what they go for now, paying $120-shipped for a SideShow version isn't too much.

Same goes for the Stormtroopers. Paying a little over $100 shipped is a hell of a lot better than paying $150+ shipping for the medicom. And we get a better version to boot!

I'm thrilled with what Sideshow is giving us for the money. They are really kicking some ass right now. Still have a way to go to catch up with Hot Toys... but they are back in the game with their recent figures.

Sideshow Vader and stormie are great even if the price is higher. If you collect to invest your money I'd suggest unique art, paintings and sculptures, not SW figures that are mass produced. I'm glad my current girlfriend doesn't bother too much when it comes to collecting. Maybe this will change if we marry:rolleyes:

I'm definately not collecting as investment, just with other things I'm interested in getting cheaper by the minute... big screen tvs, gaming systems, electronics in general, its harder to justify buying stuff that gets more expensive.

The prices are making me more selective i.e. I would not pay $80 for Bail Organa but I would pay $130 for Commander Bly. Compared to Medicom, Sideshow's versions are a great value.

Especially since Medicom also increased prices.

Medicom is pretty much out of the question for me these days. $150-$175? I don't think so. Thats almost half the price of a PS3!

Thats true... I'm glad Medicom is still making figures, but I don't like them as much as what Sideshow is doing and the price just doesn't seem worth it.
