Y'know Dusty, it might even be better that she isn't into comic books. I took my Girlfriend to go and see it, and while I was nitpicking each little detail... she was enjoying this new experience that she had no idea about. And to top it all off, she went into the theater expecting a stink. When it was all said and done, she loved it and was glad that I dragged.... er.... "took" her to see it.:monkey3

You will love it.... guaranteed.

I haven't read any of the original material and I loved it. Dusty, after you see it, do all that you can to get the rest of the guys at Sideshow to make a 12" V figure!

I read the original material although I don't remember it all that well. There are a couple of moments when you have to say - if this wasn't based on source material they'd have done this very differently. It's very theatrical and unrealistic but the dialogue, ideas and performances more than make up for that.

SPOILERS (sort of)

And without resorting to spoilers - the ending and how I felt about it made me a bit uncomfortable in this post 9/11 world.

I felt that the film had a slightly different message than the book. The book was very very angry, and was all about well, a Vendetta. The movie was a little different. It was angry, sure, but it was more about hope at the end.

I guess I was the only one that thought Nat's accent was bad and that the movie's message was pretentious and until the end the film was mostly dull? :yuck oh well! :D

Yeah, the message was very different from the novel to the film. The comics were very angry and a lot worse as far as terrorism goes... V was more of an anarchist and almost villianous in a way. But still somehow likeable.....

I loved it still, even considering the 9/11 emotions and such. I guess I have a skewed view of the Government and military with my prior Navy background. I guess once I got back from Iraq, I could not help but feel that we might need to rethink how our system works.

Afganistan and Al-Queda.... justified... Iraq...not so much...

Here's my thread from the custom gallery of what it could look like.....

Nice!

V pretty much knifed his way to the top of my "figures I desperately want that aren't being made" list. Luckily, the list gets shorter over time as more of my favorite characters are made in figure form (Dark Shadows' Barnabas, for instance, who was no.1 for a long time).

I would really like a 1/6 version of V. I just don't see Sideshow doing it since it's from DC. I'm just glad I was able to get the DC Direct replica mask before the price skyrocketed.

Liked this movie a lot more than I thought I would. I doubt we'd be able to get a SSC figure from it, but a Medicom one would seem pretty likely.

It would be my first Medicom figure if they did make one. I've never bought a Medicom figure because of the cost, but I would buy V in a heartbeat.

I'm not expecting a V from Sideshow, but I would love for someone else to release a nice one.

I just saw this movie yesterday, and while I'm a really big Star Wars fan, I really liked this film. And I really want a V figure. I'm not even a comic book person, I just liked it a lot. It's strange though, from what I've heard from other people, either you'll like it a lot or you'll completely hate it. But overall, I think it's great.

I might try and make a custom Vendetta mask (12" scale). Might be able to do something with it and some other body parts and clothes.

PsychoCenobite

i just saw this *slaps self for waiting so long* and it was the best damn movie i've seen in a long time!!! i'm dying for a figure (PF would be even better!!). please someone make a damn figure!

anyway, Hugo was terrific and i got chills w/ some of the allusions to 9/11. it's been a looong time since i read the comics. were there any huge changes made in the movie? i remember when he deals w/ the Voice of London, he takes him for a trip down memory lane before hand.

I just saw this movie last night. Never even heard of the movie until a couple days ago. A real shame, because it's a great movie. Did it do well in theaters? Anyway, Sideshow, you must make this figure in 1/6 scale! No one else could do it justice.

Agreed.
(But Hot Toys might could...I'd just prefer it be a SS!)
