VERY SORRY TO HEAR THAT BRO.:monkey2 I should have mine today, I will let you all know Re: the paint. Remember people give Sideshow some time to fix these paint issues.

Yea but what should we do in the mean time? Cancel everything we have coming in say the next 6 months? A year? That would seriously blow. I would be happy if they said something then held off on releasing whatever came from the same factory so they could fix the issue.

So sideshow pulled out of some 1/6 lines to focus on busts and statues.

That worked out well...

Between that, all this new flaking, and overseas customers destroying thousand dollar pieces everyday for other generic problems, I'll ask the same thing I asked Sideshow 6 months ago, is it worth it not having better QC?

After reading this thread, I'm not going to jump to conclusions. However, I must say I'm concerned about the $250 I plunked down for the Vader 1:1 bust. The last thing I need is a $1250 item falling apart on me after 12 months.:monkey2

I have that same fear over the 1:2 Iron Man Maquette. Hopefully since I got it through an AD, they'll be in some collectors hands first before I get it and I can see whether or not there is damage. If I get burned though and lose the $200 because I cancel it'll definitely stop me from ordering any more high ticket non refundable deposit items before seeing them in collector's hands.

Okay. So I have 'invested' over $40,000 easy in sideshow products in the last year and a half. yes, pulled money out of my retirement savings to do this. (Crazy, I know)

I kinda want, maybe, to open a collectibles shop when I retire (which is still over 20 years away)

I am just freaked over the amount of money I've spent over stuff that may not last 3 years!!!

I'm not rich, I just put every last dime I have into these products. I can't believe this is happening.

So this is my question. Is there anything I can do to my darkness busts, Samaritain etc to prevent this happening before it starts?
Is there anything I can coat them with?

I haven't been victim of the flaking yet, but I'm kinda worried now. With some items, I can wait and see what happens and order it after everyone else received there's and has been a guinea pig. But in the case of something like the TMNT pieces, the Ex is essential and I don't have that option.

This does not make me feel warm and squishy at all. :sick

I'm scared. I hope there are no issues with the Iron Man Mark II 1:1 Bust and that's why it's been delayed.

I think maybe the Mark II bust has been delayed because of wrong sticker on the bottom of the bust. I saw a pic of someone who got it and it had the Mark I print on the bottom.

Just a guess.

Wow, what a surprise another QC issue.

not to fear. I heard that after SS saw this thread, they hired Darth Vader himself to oversee production.

Hi guys! Response from the team here:

Please rest assured that we are aware of this thread and the issue, but it’s not nearly the cause for alarm that some here claim it to be. Frankly, fewer than 15 customers have reported the paint flaking issue to us (across ALL products). The issue was long ago identified and resolved, but unfortunately a very small percentage of product did ship with this flaw, as you know and see reported on occasion. We carefully and closely monitor all return reports to look for common causes and issues, and assure you that these are isolated incidents. As always, our customer service team is standing by to help those with ANY issue. Please do send our customer service team images of this or any similar issue, as they are helpful to our production and QC teams to best police our factories.

Yeah, glad to see this is being tackled. :D I have had no issues, but the frequency of reports on SSF has me worried. :(

See everyone, I told you, Sideshow are on top of things, They take care of us. :clap :D

I don't know for sure about that Mark II. All I know is one guy, who somehow got it really early, had the Mark I markings on the bottom. Could have been just the one. Who knows.
