the biggest concern here for me, is addressing any paint peeling on pieces that have gone beyond the return/exchange window....

I've had a few of these issues myself. The worst was on my Hellboy Samaritan 1:1. Sideshow sent me a replacement when i showed them how entire sections of paint were flaked off but then they turned around and lectured me on how the items are not toys and should not be played with. The darn thing came straight out of the box and went into my display case. Now my iron man 1:1 scale and Robocop exclusive pf have started. This sucks!!!!!

Funny you said,my Robocop base started to bubble a little.:banghead

Thanks for the official response, Dusty! :duff

I guess I'm okay with everything I have on order right now, I just hope a solution can be found for the few (but vocal) who have been affected.

Would they replace/fix busts/PF's owned over 1 year or more ?

No point repainting it if the problem is in the piece itself..it would need stripping, washing , and then repainting..if that's the issue.

Until a reason is determined there is no point throwing money away on repainting.

Hi guys! Response from the team here:

Please rest assured that we are aware of this thread and the issue, but it’s not nearly the cause for alarm that some here claim it to be. Frankly, fewer than 15 customers have reported the paint flaking issue to us (across ALL products). The issue was long ago identified and resolved, but unfortunately a very small percentage of product did ship with this flaw, as you know and see reported on occasion. We carefully and closely monitor all return reports to look for common causes and issues, and assure you that these are isolated incidents. As always, our customer service team is standing by to help those with ANY issue. Please do send our customer service team images of this or any similar issue, as they are helpful to our production and QC teams to best police our factories.

Thank you Dusty. We Bi#$H and moan a lot, but we wouldn't care if we didn't love your products so much and all the great things sc has done.

As always, a big thank you to you Dusty for coming in and addressing this issue. As I said before Sideshow doesn't owe us an answer in this thread, but I'm glad that we were given one.

I'm also glad to hear Sideshow has solved the problem. But they need to do something for those that have items with flaking paint. This is clearly a production problem. I don't know, if Sideshow doesn't handle this problem I may curb my collecting. Money is tight and I don't want to waste it on something that isn't going to last...

:rotfl well they did say it on the internets......:dunno

No, i dont think they will do anything about it. I bought it from a local store maybe i should bring it back there.

Contact Sideshow and tell them you bought it through Chinook Hobbies. That's what I did with my Iron man bust. They are taking care of it for me though Chinook.

Exactly! So it must be true, right?

Seriously though, I know that just because they say it doesn't mean its true. But it is in their best interest to solve the problem because if it becomes a consistent problem people are going to jump ship.

About my Diorama Hulk vs Surfer with paint flaking sideshow has been very understanding and accept to refund me even if I bought this diorama months ago.

Hope it will be the last one I received with this issue but I think at this time sideshow know what is the problem and solve it as since Iron Man 1:1 bust they knew this issue.
