This set looks amazing, both figures have been on my wishlist so to get them at the same time is great

Mace figures all round the globe are gonna suffer when this ships :emperor

I'm actually even contemplating ordering 2 sets so I can have a Sidious in the red senatorial suit post Mace duel, that way I could have 2 display setups, one with Mace and Sidious and one with Anakin and Palpatine.

I have so many scenes and dioramas I want to have and even my new shelving system covering 80 square feet isn't enough to pull it all off. I have like 3 or 4 completely different scenes with Qui-Gon I want to do and Qui-Gon isn't even one of my favorites!

WOW those pics are wonderful, my excitement for this set has increased!

Rotation is your friend. :D

No doubt.

I envy Maulfan because even with rotation a large part of his enjoyment of the hobby is enjoyable on the computer screen.

A large part of my enjoyment of the hobby revolves around building the dioramas which takes up almost as much space in storage as they do on display.

Those are great ideas, though I don't think I would want so many variations of the same character. But cool, nevertheless.

We definitely need a Yoda now.

Ya, I'll probably hunt down a VCD Yoda for now, but to me, as nice as it is, it doesn't look like any of his film appearances, certainly not the quality that one from Sideshow would reflect, especially after owning their 1:1 bust of him, they got his look nailed down.

Funny cuz on the other end, I envy people with displays. It's good and bad that I can't have displays. Good in the sense that as often as I like to take out my items and do my graphical works with them, I don't have to deal with undoing time and effort setting up poses and dios, but it's a negative on the other end of having great items tucked out of sight. However, I also collect with the future in mind, and while I don't have the space today for my grand visions, one day I will. I'm really looking forward to doing images with the Sidious figure; I love the Palpatine character in general, but the look of Sidious' deformity is just very visually appealing to me, it creates a nice canvas for light and shadow to creat character in his face, so it'll be a lot of fun for me to utilize that.

How come they haven't given us a price yet?

They don't want to scare anyone off. The average price of a SW SSC 1/6 figure is about $65....The lowest I can see this going for is $130 and in all honesty with all the accessories it'll probably end up being around $140.

I'm in like Flynt, I could care less about the pricing, both these figures are masterpieces and in reality probably won't be hitting shelves until April at the earliest.

Old Ben costs $60 for a fairly basic figure, and accessory wise, he's about equal with Palpatine and Sidious, so right there, I'd expect this set at minimum to be in the $120 range, but then add to that, the intricacy of the both costumes as well as being more unique materials for texture than a Jedi robe, and I'd figure this will probably fall somewhere between $130 and $150.

You're scaring me, man.

I'd be realy surprised if it's over $120. There's already been plenty of grumbling about the $60 per figure price point, if SSC jacks the price up yet again, it's gonna get ugly around here.

How is it anymore intricate than, say, plo koon?

Depends on the quality of figures. If the pack costs say $130, the same as Hot Toys Jack Sparrow, you get 2 high end figures for the price of one. Higher prices would stink from the stand point of wanting to collect a great number of pieces in the line, but it's liveable if the item you get in the end makes you feel like you got your money's worth. If this set costs me $150, I'll be fine with that because they both look amazing.

The red senate suit, to me, is more intricaltely layered and patterned like the quality we've seen in the LOTR line, in my mind anyway, these look like the 2 most involving costumes in the Star Wars line. I don't know how easily accessible it is, but there is also the fur on the the Sidious costume, which may take more to pull off without being toyish. I don't think it's light years past a standard Jedi costume, I just think enough to pad the final cost by a few more dollars.

If they're gonna charge more that $120 then these figures better come out of the factory looking exactly like the prototypes, and I mean exactly.

I have a feeling, at least with Sidious, that his final paint apps will be fine because that's in a way, an alien portrait and so far Bib, Kit and Plo have all turned out just like the protos, and since Palpatine's hair is white, I really don't think there's room for error on his portrait either. I'm fairly confident with these two that what we see is what we'll get.

Yeah I am not worried about the paint on this one. The proto pics look about as nice as any production job, for the most part.

Standard procedure for any multipack is to give a slight discount. Two packs are usually a few dollars cheaper than buying two seperate figures. Even the GI Joe 25th Anniversary Box sets are selling the figures at a $5 a piece price, when some stores are selling the singles for $6.

Therefore, I'm expecting $120 or lower. Could it be more, sure, but a true two-pack usually ends up cheaper than two seperate figures, even if the outfits are more ornate they have very few acceessories between the two of them.
