...I have a dealer near me and I have him order non exclusive items from SS for me,now he charges me what ever the item cost no tax no shipping cost.So if this Palpatine two pk is $120 then that's all I pay(now that's a deal)...

Actually most dealers here offer 15% discounts on Sideshow products (non-exclusives of course) which usually more than covers the shipping. Just FYI.

Interesting that people think Palpatine by himself wouldn't be $60, he has a good ammount of accessories and his wardrobe is quite complex; compared to other figures in that price range, I'd say he equally or more so justifies that cost.

First good close up we got. Great face on this guy...

IF that skin texture isn't lost in the production paint, this figure will put Sideshow back beyond Hot Toys for realism in their heads. I hope Sideshow looks at texturing their human portraits, it really adds more realism to it. The texture on HT's Jack Sparrow is amazingly realistic, but HT's paint apps still seem toyish, althought they're applied well, something about Sideshow's standard paints that looks more flesh than toy to me, and if you combined that with skin texture, you'd have a freakin scary figurine. Sidious is going to be a phenominal figure.

Yep, I hope that 'bad skin' texture isn't lost in the Faramir factory.

:D

It wouldn't get lost in that factory, it would just go unnoticed due to the yellow skin he gets. Let's hope Sidious doesn't come out looking like an old booze hound haha.

I cannot wait to sink my brushes into both these guys! They are super sculpts. Talk about some long awaited paints! :D Can't wait!
I know exactly how I am gonna repaint the Chancellor! That Emperor face is too true also. Just amazing expression.

Yeah, but Im sure they charge tax,my dealer doesn't so it turns out to be the same.Just FYI

Whether or not dealers charge tax depends on the state where they are located and the state where you are located. I live in Idaho, and none of the dealers I buy from charge me sales tax (including Sideshow).

And I think it is a bit disingenuous to call Sideshow's shipping charges too high when your basis of comparison is NO shipping charges from your local dealer. The fact that he likes you enough to eat the shipping charges HE pays doesn't imply that Sideshow should do the same.

I really don't understand your bitterness toward Sideshow. Did they kick your dog and steal your lunch money or something?

It's doubtful, but I hope this might end up a Christmas surprise instead of starting the new year.

There's 2 scenarios I want with this pack. 1) They're well made and arrive early, or 2) They're delayed into 2nd Quarter and they come out beyond expectation as Boushh did.

Kinda what I wondered too. :lol

Then order from your deal and not direct from Sideshow. Whining solved.

unless you want the exclusive :lol

And I'm sure that dealers state tax commision would like to talk to him, what is this dealers name??? :rotfl

I'm surprised this isn't sold out yet, or even a low quantity alert. 2000 is a pretty normal Star Wars exclusive size, but I guess people just aren't used to sticker shock I guess. Surely if these were released indvidually they both would be sold out by now. Bib Fortuna didn't take too long over the PPO deadline if I remember right, but Palpatine is a much more important character.

Anyway, glad I got mine. Is it 2008 yet?:monkey2

Yeah, I'm surprised too. Thought for certain this figure would go fairly fast after all the positive talk about it.

People drop $150 fast for yet another version of Maul... but the Master of the universe gets not so much love at a lower price for 2 figures.

I guess it just means there isn't anywhere near 2,000 of us here or on RS to get this puppy sold out. We are a small lot indeed.
