Whether or not dealers charge tax depends on the state where they are located and the state where you are located. I live in Idaho, and none of the dealers I buy from charge me sales tax (including Sideshow).

And I think it is a bit disingenuous to call Sideshow's shipping charges too high when your basis of comparison is NO shipping charges from your local dealer. The fact that he likes you enough to eat the shipping charges HE pays doesn't imply that Sideshow should do the same.

I really don't understand your bitterness toward Sideshow. Did they kick your dog and steal your lunch money or something?

Ha ha,no bitterness here or a dog for that matter.I Just sense from some of you freaks a lot of loyalty towards SS and that's fine,but just because you really like their product doesn't mean you should defend them every way possible even when you know their stickin it to you.I like their product too but I know when I'm being had.I know that Dark shadow guy is real cheap on shipping maybe they can offer what he offers.

I'm surprised this isn't sold out yet, or even a low quantity alert. 2000 is a pretty normal Star Wars exclusive size, but I guess people just aren't used to sticker shock I guess. Surely if these were released indvidually they both would be sold out by now. Bib Fortuna didn't take too long over the PPO deadline if I remember right, but Palpatine is a much more important character.

Anyway, glad I got mine. Is it 2008 yet?

I'm not too surprised. It is kinda pricey, compared to just a one figure PPO. I think some people are planning on just picking up a split up figure down the road, if they only want one of them.

The exclusive statue is definitely not a "must-have", so I can see a lot of people saving a few bucks and picking up the regular from their favorite online shop.

Hey, you forgot the SDCC Vader/Anakin. That one definitely falls under the baddies section. He killed younglings, the bastid!

Yeah, I'm surprised too. Thought for certain this figure would go fairly fast after all the positive talk about it.

People drop $150 fast for yet another version of Maul... but the Master of the universe gets not so much love at a lower price for 2 figures.

I guess it just means there isn't anywhere near 2,000 of us here or on RS to get this puppy sold out. We are a small lot indeed.

But Sideshow did just come out with theirs not too long ago, and he isn't inscale with the Sideshow line either. If Medi did an Emperor figure before this pack was announced, it would probably already be sold out.

I'm not trying to argue with you, I just was trying to make the point that you could get that same price on the regular edition of Palpatine 2-pack or better including shipping from other dealers on this board in case you weren't aware. But your point about shipping I don't agree with because I believe Sideshow's shipping prices are very fair.

In my opinion, the pistol grip hands looks the best when posing a figure with a lightsaber. Looks more natural.
