Some Acrylics are terrrible and when they dry they chip arn't folkart paints like that? (I lied im sorry because I siad that would be my last question but I guess not sorry)
I wouldn't use Folkart paints. There are better Acrylics.
Thanks for the help Nathan, toylion and that other dude but one time I was trying to paint a model (it was a war of the worlds model if you know what that is) and I used the testors enamel model paints and since they didnt have aqua green I had to mix colors to get my desired color and I tried painting it but it just got goey and dried kind of as I began to brush it I dont think I will go back to those testors enamel model paints is tamiya a better paint brand just in case I ever will paint a model again? P.s. nice dragon did tou sculpt it yourself because if you did, thats amazing?I use FolkArt from brush applications all the time. I use ComArt for airbrushing mostly. Durability is in proper priming and sealing though. I don't have anything crack unless there is a problem with the casting material I'm painting on.
Case and point, I'm painting the large Dragon bust below that will be on display at Monsterpalooza next week at the Monster Clay booth. There was some kind of chemical reaction in the casting of the piece, and even with primer, it has been flaking off my paint in spots all the way down to the bare resin. Glue is the only thing I've found to counteract the effect.
There are, but in the hands of a master....
If you build up FolkArt too much, you risk cracking as it dries. I water it down a lot even when brushing on to avoid streaks, build up, and cracking. Multiple thin layers is always better than one thick layer.
FolkArt has so many colors and they all mix well with eachother. They also come in large bottles that are fairly cheap, usually cheaper than a small bottle of enamel.
As mentioned above, I just painted this Dragon with FolkArt and ComArt. It's sealed with Krylon Triple Thick Glaze. I have to finish the base tomorrow black bedliner rubber.
You don't use ANY oil? How the eff do you paint those eyes with acrylics!!!I always use acrylics. Acrylics are fine as long as you use good primer and sealer.
Nathan, the dome is sick dude it looks so much like the real thing. Nicely done. What did you use for the dome anyway?Making slow but steady progress on this guy though. Dome is done, but will be much shinier when the whole thing is finished.

Nice, and the nipple is blured out.I did this upgrade to my Machiko quite a bit ago, but never took pics of her. Nows a good time, I guess since it came up in the Machiko thread today.
She's now using the Abigail Whislter head and body. I got tired of seeing Angelina Jolie. That, and the cuban body I was using split between the boobs.
Yes, mods, the nipple is blurred out this time.
