Some Acrylics are terrrible and when they dry they chip arn't folkart paints like that? (I lied im sorry because I siad that would be my last question but I guess not sorry)

I use FolkArt from brush applications all the time. I use ComArt for airbrushing mostly. Durability is in proper priming and sealing though. I don't have anything crack unless there is a problem with the casting material I'm painting on.

Case and point, I'm painting the large Dragon bust below that will be on display at Monsterpalooza next week at the Monster Clay booth. There was some kind of chemical reaction in the casting of the piece, and even with primer, it has been flaking off my paint in spots all the way down to the bare resin. Glue is the only thing I've found to counteract the effect.

I wouldn't use Folkart paints. There are better Acrylics.

There are, but in the hands of a master....:wink1:

If you build up FolkArt too much, you risk cracking as it dries. I water it down a lot even when brushing on to avoid streaks, build up, and cracking. Multiple thin layers is always better than one thick layer.

FolkArt has so many colors and they all mix well with eachother. They also come in large bottles that are fairly cheap, usually cheaper than a small bottle of enamel.

As mentioned above, I just painted this Dragon with FolkArt and ComArt. It's sealed with Krylon Triple Thick Glaze. I have to finish the base tomorrow black bedliner rubber.

P.s. nice dragon did tou sculpt it yourself because if you did, thats amazing? :D

Rob

Thanks. It was sculpted by a friend of mine, the same guy that did the Scarecrow bust I painted (farther back in this thread). His name is Anthony Watkins. He has a whole series of dragons, but he liked this one the best and wanted me to paint it for him. It will be on display at Monsterpalooza in Burbank, California next weekend. Hollywood monster making pros go to that show. I knew I had to do a good job on this one if it's going to be there.

I did this upgrade to my Machiko quite a bit ago, but never took pics of her. Nows a good time, I guess, since it came up in the Machiko thread today.

She's now using the Abigail Whislter head and body. I got tired of seeing Angelina Jolie. That, and the cuban body I was using split between the ****s.:dunno

Yes, mods, the nipple is blurred out this time. :wink1:

Nice, and :lol the nipple is blured out.

Took a while, but I actually paged through every single page over a couple of days to check out all the work. Well worth it.

Truly impressive stuff.

Thank you. I've worked hard to make it so.:hi5:

Now begins my 15 head marathon of Marty, Simon, Don Draper and a Flash Gordon. It's going to be a long couple of days.
