I am so thrilled to see this is happening! When MGM had their difficulties, I was fearful we wouldn't see Daniel Craig again as Bond. I really liked Timothy Dalton and really wish he had done a couple more, too.

Dalton had the curse of being a great James Bond in some bad Bond films. I think it hurt Dalton's career. He's much better than most of the stuff he's in and often he's regulated to supporting cast.

A bad Bond film. "The Living Daylights" was pretty good.

License and Living Daylights rocked. License was the most violent Bond movie before Casino Royale.

I dug the brutality.

But Living Daylights was just fun. The theme is classic too.

Agreed. I really love The Living Daylights although the ending--like so many of the films--overstays it's welcome.

When License to Kill came out, I did not like it. I Have really grown to like it over the years, though.

But they both pale to Casino Royale. After the Brosnan era and especially Die Another Day, It was one of the most enjoyable film experiences. I had a smile plastered on my face the whole time.

I didn't care for Dalton's film when I first saw them, but I've come to appreciate them. I wish instead of replacing Felix with Jack Wade in the Brosnan movies I wish they had kept Felix with his hook hands from the novels. :lol

Can't wait. If Bond will be kicking it old skool, he should be wearing a Rolex Submariner. Let's bring some class back to this franchise :)

Looks like it has the potential to be good. I have no problem with the stand alone story and I think that's actually a good thing. But I hope Quantum AND Mr. White return in Bond 24.

Quantum has a lot of potential (this Bond's SPECTRE) and Mr. White is a very loose thread. He really should have been taken care of in QoS. Which I hear he supposedly was in the original, deleted ending that took place after the ending scene in the film.

I do feel the final shot was a great way to end the film and the reason given for cutting the original ending scene was:

There was a scene after where the movie ends now. The movie felt sort of complete with Bond finding his “quantum of solace.”

If I would have kept the scene, then producers wouldn’t have had a choice but to make it a trilogy. Now they can start new. They have that opportunity.

Let’s put it this way: Bond encounters Mr. White at the end of that scene. You wouldn’t have had a choice at the end of that but to follow that lead.
A very general idea of what I'd like to see in Bond 24 is early on Bond receives information from M involving Mr. White and where he has been located or sent on an "unrelated" assignment and unexpectedly locates Mr. White.

Mr. White eventually ends up being killed. Maybe by a Quantum agent (which would be a fitting demise) and we learn of a bigger Quantum baddie.

I think Mr. White will show up again in some "too big to fail" organization. Bond will be told he's untouchable and Bond won't give a sh-t.

I have no idea who the actor is. I kind of like how they are going with a young actor. I loved Desmond!!! I am also a Cleese fan but I was not sold on him as Q. I am looking forward to this movie very much!!

I still think a Q who is younger than Bond is a bit weird...but I dunno, I'm optimistic that they'll make it work. John Cleese again would've been awesome though.
